We ended up in this wonderful town not knowing where we were going to stay or if we were going to stay at all. A gorgeous girl - Thank You MARTINA! at a large hotel on the Lungomare Mazzini told us she had no vacancy, but called MeliaResort and we ended up at this museum of a hotel. It was the last two nights of our week in Sicily. It was a great way to end a vacation. This hotel has the most gorgeous antiques, everywhere. The cielings are beautiful. There is a very nice breakfast and a wonderful host. He speaks not a word of English, but used an app on his phone to communicate with us. The location is perfect as a base to explore the whole town. There are restaurants nearby, and a coffee shop at the end of the street. Loved it.

MeliaResort Dimore Storiche is an old house with a wonderful court yard. The owner has been very welcoming and has given us some great tips. The place seems to have been in the same family for ages. It has certainly lots of character. We booked a small double room as the price was rather high. The room was indeed very small so that we opted for an upgrade to one of its apartments when we arrived. The rooms are basic with all the necessary amenities. WiFi was not very strong and hence only worked in parts of the apartment. You need to be aware that this place is tucked into the old city. It is impossible to drive in front of the hotel to unload the luggage. Parking is only available on the tiny public roads.

Cordialmente Mariagrazia Melia

The joys of travelling!!!! Melia resort is a bit hard to find but when we did we were transported into this wonderful mixture of old Sicilian and Arab world.
This hotel is something very special. We stayed at the junior suite, I night recommended with floor lights and you can see some of the scavations. The suite had a seating room and a further bedroom like a loft. All very well decorated. Clean crisp sheets and lovely bed.
Reception staff was extremely Polite and helpful. Breakfast was rather a let down but the service was very good. Highly recommended for a day. Wifi is touch and go... Does not work very well.

We booked to stay for 2 nights based on the images on 2 different websites, however, we were immensely disappointed.

Never mind about 'antique' (and much of the furniture and artefacts are well under 100 years old) as the owner called this place, the reality was dilapidated, reeking of damp and mould, bedding damp to the touch and smelling of mould, outdated and cramped bathroom with a rusting toilet brush, a ridiculous out-of-date plastic shower that was a tidy cubicle and when one touched anything inside, rusting chrome parts fell to the floor. The cubicle also leaked so when one went to the loo at night, you would get your feet wet! The bathroom also had cracked tiles and dirty corners. Bits of damp plaster also falling onto the floor in the bedroom - all in all a real disgrace! The kitchenette off the bedroom had a tap that when turned on, flowed out all over the place and was clearly not meant to be used. The bedroom was large and has some charm, but lacked any lighting that actually was strong enough to see by. The cupboards and drawers needed cleaning/sweeping out and some of them contained articles that had no place being there and taking up room.

The establishment is replete with problems, some of which could be solved with a damp proof course and refurbishment as well as renewing the bathrooms but this clearly takes money and I doubt they want to spend a cent! BOOKING.COM ARE ALSO CULPABLE!!

Breakfast were average and there was no non-sweet croissants or bread. The inner courtyard was a rather pleasant area to relax in.

We didn't find parking to onerous in an adjacent street after dropping off our luggage.

Hi I do not know what kind of problems you have with yourself, We do not answer completely invented reviews. I can only add that you broke the shower floor in an attempt to pay less, saying the shower had flooded. We knew about the plumber after you left, so you did not pay the damage, I'm very sorry. Your incorrect behavior has also been reported to booking on the 'unwanted customers' list. Cordially

Like the city of Mazara del Vello, the MeliaResort hotel is a little quirky and different. Located at the top of the Casbah area, it was an easy walk to the town center and river. The hotel room was very roomy and clean. Breakfast was classically Sicilian and more than adequate. Finding parking was a challenge on occasions, depending on the time of the day. Had a great stay and highly recommend this hotel.

Our third visit to this historic and interesting “City of Peace” and we decided not to return to the fairly ordinary Mahara Hotel but to experience somewhere in the Kasbah, more convenient for the city centre. This hotel appeared to fit the bill, supported by positive Trip Advisor reviews, and we reserved for three nights.

Narrow streets around the hotel forced us to park a short walk away on Via Monteverde. The car remained there throughout a long weekend – free of charge. We were surprised when we checked in to find that our booking had not been confirmed as we had not paid the required 30% deposit. We had wrongfully assumed that the hotel had charged our card - a misunderstanding, apparently not unique to us.

Just as we were wondering where else we might stay at short notice, the receptionist offered us the only free room – the 210€ Suite de Luxe for 80€, the price we expected to pay for a smaller room. We were of course very happy with this option especially when we entered the suite: 100 square metres of trompe l’œil extravaganza, period furniture and furnishings , separate ‘music’ room (with piano) and bathroom with Jacuzzi.

Breakfast was served at a communal table with other guests or at more private side tables; there is a varied buffet selection, more sweet than savoury, and attentive coffee service.

This is an excellent, elegant and atmospheric hotel, providing friendly and discreet service, convenient to the enchanting old city, local landmarks, restaurants and bars.

We had originally planned to spend just one night in this amazing historical "Palazzo" right in the center of the Casbah of Mazara del Vallo (very safe), but as soon as we dropped our luggage in our elegant Suite it was clear that it would have been a dreadful mistake not to enjoy longer of our large, comfortable, cozy, refined, intimate, quiet and romantic Suite so that we asked to extend our stay for another night and it was really worth the change.
Our Suite had its private entrance, which made it like being at home.
In addition to the beauty of the Palazzo itself and of course its rooms (all of them are gorgeous), I would make a special remark to the lovely and extremely pleasant and helpful staff, who were always ready to provide the best addresses of local restaurants and sightseeing spots.
Last but not least the yummy breakfast: judge for yourself, but it will be hard to find a better place during your whole vacation in Sicily.

There was just a little technical problem with the wifi connection, which was temporarily not working during our stay.

This is a precious address if you enjoy staying in a special place in the old and historic town and at safety distance from the crowded beaches during summer season.

We are always seeking to stay somewhere a bit different, but on a modest budget. This place ticked all the boxes! I will say before travelling my only concern had been that it was in the Casbah area of town - where would we park? was it safe? These turned out to be totally unfounded worries. This hotel is in the very North West corner of the Casbah. We followed our SatNav and stopped 100m short of the destination. Here we were outside the tiny winding network of streets that make up the Casbah and parking was easy. The area is very much on the up - there were lots of high end shops - not much sign of an ethnically diverse community (expect for the odd restaurant).
The hotel itself is beautiful and very well appointed. The breakfast set up was stylish and unusual. We were within an easy stroll of the Satyr Museum and enjoyed wandering around this old part of town - just what we wanted. There are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. However if you here for the beaches - this is the wrong side of town.

This Meliaresort hotel in the old town of Mazara del Vallo is lovely -- but we are slightly biased, as we were upgraded to the first-floor suite, with amazing frescoed ceiling and walls, genuine antique furniture, embroidered sheets and a large jacuzzi bath. Other rooms are smaller, but equally atmospheric. Rooms all have air-conditioning, there is a cool courtyard at the rear and a large, quiet lobby area at street level. The (non-English-speaking) staff are very friendly and the breakfasts adequate, but rather on the sweet side, with massive jam-packed cornettos and lots of cakes, but only a little fruit and ordinary bread. This is a good place to stay for visiting the historic centre and fishing port -- but safe parking, at the railway station, is not close and is expensive.
