Not sure what the fuss is about the road to Sol Caribe/Punta Allen... yes, it's bumpy and you have to slow down, but isn't that the point? We rented a Jeep and never even thought once about using 4 wheel drive. You wouldn't want to drive a compact car with low clearance. It took us 1.5 hours from Tulum to...

Would give this 3.5 stars if could. Stayed in March 2014. Road from Tulum was as bad as the reviews make out. Took 3.5 hours and you need a high clearance vehicle but not a 4x4. Beaches on the way down were empty but the sea was quite rough (due to the bad weather) and unbelievable amounts of rubbish washed...

The owners of the place, Iwonne and Mauritzio were soo nice... Wonderful place, very friendly workers and delicious food. It is like a dream isolated from world being just one with the nature. Thank you all guys!!! I love the place and the people.

Stayed at Sol Caribe for 3 nights and was delighted by the ambient and low key atmosphere. Sure, the place is difficult to reach (1,5h drive from tulum during dry season) but as all the previous reviews, I fully agree that its well worth the effort. Set at a beautiful part of the beach, rooms were very large (try to...

I stayed here for five blissful days. The location is incredible and the water is amazing. The food as really tasty and staff is great. The food is pricey so be prepared. It cost two of us about $200 per day to eat. So on several occasions we drove down to punta Allen village to eat at the local restaurants.

maybe the wind and rough water was difficult, maybe the road getting there,, maybe the eco rules,,,but waking up in the morning and looking out was a thrill day after day,, good food, drinks, amazing solitude on endless beach,,maybe its not for everyone,,but for us it wasn't long enough,, don't think a month would've been long enough,, we got into...

Now and then you need a hideaway.. to read that book you never finnished or to meditate or just to do things that are not at all related to what you normally do at home! Well Sol Caribe is that spot! For several reasons... 1) you have to DRIVE away from Civilization.. its not that bad drive.. its 2 hours...

A lovely family run oasis on a deserted beach in the jungle of the biosphere. So glad we made the effort for the trip from Tulum to Punta Allen…but I didn't get the memo about just how bad the roads are and how long it would take to get there. BE SURE to get a Jeep or 4x4 and plan...

Yes, it is a hard road to take and I get motion sickness. BUT Soooooo worth the bad road trip! I'll do it all over again & again & again & again just to be there. My husband and I chose this specific place for my birthday celebration. We are not really the crowded, big resort types. I have to...

Casual, tranquil, secluded and relaxed, Sol Caribe is a small, exclusive, beachfront resort with private cabanas and suites, on the Caribbean Sea side of Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula; in the state of Quintana Roo… it is one of the last untouched corners of the Mayan Riviera with a desert island feel.
