Mike and crew do a great job with everything here. If you're looking for the "resort" experience, go elsewhere. It's a drive to reach, but worth it if you want to get away from the crowds. Good fishing. Great food. Wifi is limited so if you have a net addiction, be prepared for withdrawals.

Costa del Sol is located within walking distance of town. The numerous palm trees go magnificently with the beautiful white beach and blue water of the ocean. The food is cooked to perfection and Mike has a palate pleasing menu. There is a large screen TV in the eating area, so we watched TV and drank cold beer/mixed drinks while...

Michael does a great job with his beach open air kitchen. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quaint. Punta Allen remains off the beaten path and Costa del Sol delivers. Michael goes out of his way to make your experience comfortable and memorable

You can read my many reviews of other hotels and restaurants in Punta Allen. Mike, the former owner of Sol Caribe ( where I stayed this trip) and also the owner of Casa de Ascension is now the proprietor. Mike has owned and operated hotels here for 20 years and is a fanatic about food quality...and it was evident in...

Costa del Sol is just before the entrance to Punta Allen. VERY easily walkable. It is an expansive, low-key property with tons of palm trees and hammocks and beach-front. My large, very reasonably priced cabana was immaculate and everyone was SO helpful. i arranged several tours, had wonderful ceviche, lots of Sol cervesa and enjoyed the vibe immensely. I could...

This place is excellent but this is not a resort or your typical hotel. We stayed in one of their bungalows / cabins for 3 nights last week and it was an experience of a life time. The second day we went on a boat excursion for 3 hours in which we visited bird sanctuaries, saw dolphins, turtles, snorkeled and...

This beautiful beach property offers camping among the palm trees for around $18 usd a night (as well as individual cabañas/casitas for around $55 usd a night). While the place is very nice we weren't made very welcome (we are a Mexican family so communication wasn't an issue). We wanted to stay 3 nights but were told we probably wouldn't...

Very nice place to stay in rustic punta allen. Clean, comfortable, spacious, and good value. The grounds were also very picturesque with lots of hammocks and palm trees. The owner an ex- pro sport fisherman is very helpful and friendly however doesn't speak much English. The food that we tried here was also delicious the fish was exceptional one of...

Bungalos Costa del Sol is a lesser known, hidden gem, just a 5-minute walk outside Punta Allen proper. The setting is lovely - right on the beach, with lots of old-growth palm trees to provide shade and areas where it's easy to swim. Accommodations are simple but comfortable, and the restaurant's somewhat limited menu offers well-prepared, delicious, mostly seafood based...

We spent three glorious weeks at Costa del Sol. It was our third trip to Punta Allen and our second stay with the Ancona falmily. Again there are no words to describe the welcome atmosphere, food from the gods (the special Costa del Sol Fillet is our favorite!) and the beautiful grounds we are so lucky to call our "Home...
