Cuzan House provided my fly fishing buddy and I a great experience. We read about this place in a LA Times travel article and knew this was a fishing destination like no other. The end-of-the-road tropical environment we imagined went above and beyond our expectations. Our guide was incredible and put us where the fish were. Our favorite one word...

Beaches were full of trash all over the park. The beach in front of the guest house was a bit cleaner but if you go there to walk on a white pristine beach, just forget it. The room was rather dirty and the service was poor. The food at the restaurant was ok, but there were several other places in...

We booked a week long trip to Punta Allen, thinking we would have a week of isolation: a quiet romantic getaway of swimming, quality beach time, good food and drinks. Despite the very friendly staff across the board, there were no swimmable beaches on this stretch of the "Mayan Riviera". If you are an avid fisherman, there's plenty to do...

I knew almost nothing about this place but I was indeed positively surprised. Fished for 4 days (with José) and had a great time. Top-notch guide! The food is very good, but you better like fish and seafood since almost every meal is based on it. The road from Tulum is not as bad as some (older) pages on the...

If Playa del Carmen is the new Cancun, and Tulum is the new Playa del Carmen, then Punta Allen is the new Tulum. If you _really_ want to relax, get off the plane and head straight to Cuzan. The setting, staff and food are superb--all in a low-key, no-frills kind of way.

WE love this place! We do not fish, however be like non touristy places that are remote. Sonja is a great host as are all of the employees of Cuzan, we first went when my 15 y/o was 7 and he made friends with the local boys, they are still friends! We have lots of great memories here in Punta...

“The cabanas right on the beach obviously have much better views but are also slightly cooler due to the sea breeze. Believe me - in those sweltering Mexican nights that can make a massive difference.”
