We loved our experience at Manicou River. I couldn't imagine a more tastefully finished treehouse, with a more perfect view. Our young children loved the lizards & hermit crabs, as well as the novelty of living in a treehouse. Paul & I loved the relaxation of gazing endlessly at Dominca's bays & rainforest. Drinking fresh coffee whilst watching hummingbirds diving...

Hi Nancy, Thanks so much for the review. We loved meeting you and your gorgeous girls. It's so much fun to see kids enjoying nature that way. Hope to see you again. Kate and Patrick

We stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon in Dominica and it was definitely worth the quick visit. The views are some of the most stunning on the island and the cabins provide everything you need to get away from it all for a few days. The road up to the cabins as people have mentioned is very steep...

Thanks so much for the review. We are sorry about the mosquitos. Unfortunately the problem is island-wide at this time of year. Usually, up here on the mountain, we have plenty of breeze to keep them away. It's unfortunate that the nights you were here were fairly still. Glad you found the coils useful though. Kind regards and thanks again...

We selected this property after combing through all the available options on Dominica, and wow, what a pick it was! Keep in mind that this is a very remote location, and you'll need a 4x4 car to make the most out of your stay, we've seen guests without their own transport, but you'd want to be in good physical shape...

HI Marika and Tomo, Thanks so much for such a detailed review. It will be really helpful for future guests to get a feel for the place. Thanks to you feedback, we have now made sure all the cottages have two solar reading lamps. And, yes, plans for the restaurant are underway. We are hoping to have it open by...

It's almost like words cannot describe such a gem. Yes, the views are amazing all day, every day. It's like a happy dream. We woke up to the most lovely morning bird songs and spent relaxing evenings next to the Manicou River. The cabins, so well appointed and designed are comfortable and inspire relaxation. It felt like every detail was...

Thanks so much for writing this beautiful and detailed review. Living at Manicou River is a joy and a privilege but it is also very hard work. Getting the accommodation to the standard that met our vision over the past year has been a real trial. It is so heart-warming for us to hear that all this hard work has...

When we arrived we didn’t estimate the road to be as crazy as it was. We thought that our taxi would be able to make the trip up the mountain. So when we got to the bottom, the owner of Poonkies bar located at the bottom of the hill, laughed and “Said you’re not making it up the hill in...

We stayed here in early March 2014, for 3 nights and this place was simply perfection. As a couple who like to do our bit for the environment but without compromising too much on luxury touches on a holiday, this place was the perfect choice. Kate and Patrick are a lovely, fun and welcoming couple who make you feel more...

Hi Guilio, Thanks so much for taking the time to write this review. It's great to know that all our hard work can bring people such joy. Please do come back. The restaurant should be complete before the end of this year. Kind regards, Kate, Patrick and Balloo (the puppy).

We had a feeling based on our research that we would love this place, but actually arriving there was magical. We got there at night after a long day hiking to the boiling lake. When we woke up an realized where we were, it felt like heaven and we never wanted to leave the room. The room is so lovely...

Make no mistake - this is not a high-end resort with luxurious amenities. But it is one of the nicest places to stay on Dominica and there is luxury. Book early. Utilize their offer to arrange transportation to their place and then to rent a 4X4 (a must). Enjoy the remote location, but with access to everything you really need....

We just spent three nights at Manicou River (were originally going to stay two but liked it so much), after also spending three nights at Crescent Moon Cabins (which we loved to pieces if people are looking to split time between locations). The Manicou River cabins are so clean and remarkably well-appointed - from the kitchens (loved all the supplies...

Image a treehouse with a postcard perfect view over the bay and sunset from bed or the hammock - could not be better! Plus a attentive management team. Be sure to rent a 4-wheel-drive to reacht the hotel. My favorite place on Dominica!!
