If you like your tropical resorts to be shiny new, with sophisticated décor, gourmet meals and air con and TVs in the rooms (and are prepared to pay for them) then Crusoe’s Retreat is not for you. This is quite an old resort (built in 1960s) and showing its age and the tropical climate, with little sign that the NZ...

Nice rooms, tasty food but limited selection. Staff very handy and friendly. Nice quiet place.Nice views. Typical local village at the side of the Resort. Music and singing by a local band, every meal and activities, very enjoyable. Not fancy but very enjoyable.

My wife and I came here on our Honeymoon. Whilst she has written her own review I felt it was important for me to share my experience. The staff were fantastic and really made the stay great. My wife and I don't like anything fancy and the resort suited us well. We had the Deluxe Seaside Bure which I highly...

Hello, I come from Canada, traveled with my wife and we went to Australia, then Vanuatu and Fiji at the end. Crusoe's Retreat made us regret our stay in Port Vila. The best thing about Crusoe's Retreat was to spend our days at the next hotel's ocean terasse and their chique resto/bar and pool up the path. Wellesley resort Fiji,...

This retreat was exactly as we expected with the exception of the maintenance and apparent cost saving actions taken by management. Power went out/turned off in the early morning, verandahs, decks and other exposed wood structures had rot and were not safe to walk on. The connection to the village was amazing. We enjoyed the many opportunities to visit and...

We stayed in a sea side deluxe. The rooms are what you can expect from a 3* star hotel. Nice outdoor shower, good water pressure and always warm water. The interior is okay. A bit old fashioned but in good condition. We saw one of the sea side bure from the inside. I think they are not worth the money....

My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights. The staff were always so friendly and treated us like guests in their home. The rooms were average, fairly clean but not great until we upgraded to the sea side bure. This was the best decision of the whole trip! Much nicer rooms and and outdoor space really turned the whole...

Bula and thank you for your lovely review of your stay with us at Crusoe's Retreat. We are thrilled to read that you enjoyed your Deluxe SeaSide Bure. Because we are a very isolated resort, there are limited dining options. We do our best to provide a variety of meal choices, ranging from our popular Mongolian BBQ, traditional Fijian Lovo...

Spent five nights here in a Deluxe Beach Front Bure.It was excellent rustic , island style Bure. Appreciated the fan and air conditioning.Enjoyed the hammock and large lounging bed on the deck. The outside shower was a treat so we never used the inside shower at all.The staff were generally helpful and friendly. Food was great.Dinner was a simple no fuss...

Bula Vinaka and thank you so much for your great review of your stay at Crusoe's Retreat. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us, and that you were able to take advantage of some our great scuba diving, located just minutes from our beach. We can't wait for your next visit! Vinaka!

My partner and I spent a week here in January, and absolutely loved it. It's not 5-star, but doesn't claim to be. It's aimed at those who want a relaxing location away from the hustle. A perfect beach with excellent snorkling, swimming and kayaking, or to just quietly chill and relax. Most of the complaints seem to be from people...

We recently stayed at Crusoe Retreat for 10 days with our 18 year old daughter and her friend, in separate Seaside Deluxe Bures (one upgraded on our arrival from a Seaview Deluxe, Vinaka!). Cons: Quite isolated (although may also be a Pro for some) and in hindsight, for the length of our stay a hire car for a few days...
