I booked this place through Cardbox Gondwana Self Drive Tours. They are part of Taleni Group lodges. The road is gravel and we rented vehicle through Altura Ttravels. The lodge was a really nice surprise on our stop over in this area. The room that was booked was really

Hotel is average with staff that lacks motivation and is sometimes hard to find. Pool is small but very welcome in summer with temperatures arοund 40 degrees and no aircon in the rooms. Also no shade where the parking is. Food is OK, but nothing special. Sesriem Canyon is

The chalets are very quaint, rustic and inviting. They are a little walk away from the reception and main wing with a outdoor pattio facing nice panorama views and Namibia's red sunsets. The lodge is owned by the Namibian government thus location wise, staying here within the

Very large thatched roof lodges connected by winding board walks— we were somewhat apprehensive about this accommodation choice because of a few negative reviews. However, we were pleasantly surprised that we didn’t agree with them, once we arrived and spent two nights there in

Excellent setting as it’s so close to Sossusvlei. Lodges were nicely finished and spacious. Very hot during the day but cooled significantly in the evening. A very pleasant supper in the restaurant and a good breakfast pack in the morning for the trip to Sossusvlei. Also has a

You can book directly with Namibia Wildlife Resorts, online - abbreviated nwr in the website You can try to call them as well: +264 61 285 7200 Note that the lodge does book out, and it may not be available for the dates that you want. the easiest is to look online and see if it is available for those dates - if you look at another resort, you can see one that is available to see the difference.

The road is gravel, needing a sturdy vehicle, but 4x4 is not needed to get to the lodge. Note that the C roads are better than D roads. The D roads may need 4x4 for river crossings. If the roads have been graded, they are good, if not, then the are rough and need to be driven slowly to preserve tyres. The road from the lodge to sossusvlei is tar, except for the last 5km, which is thick sand and requires a 4x4. There are Namibia wildlife vehicles that shuttle people this last 5km. However, I recommend you take the guided tour from the lodge, which leaves earlier than others, and will show you where to go for the best experience - the sunrise/breakfast tour.
