I rented a 4x4 and drove from Walvis Bay to the Sossus Dune Lodges. I have driven more that 300km gravel road and it was not easy but as soon as I arrived the lodge, it was well worth it. The hut looked rustic but inside was luxurious. At night, you could see the milky way because it was so...

We stayed for two nights, and felt let down by the customer service - this place could be really good. Good things: the room was smart and nice and big. Bad things: The manageress was not very welcoming on our arrival (little things, like a smile and some information about activities would have been nice) and fairly disinterested in everything....

We chose this lodge strictly based on location since it is inside the park and we knew we wanted to get sunrise and sunset pictures. The lodges themselves are quite charming and the food was pretty good. For cleanliness, so-so - for example there was a wad of hair on the side of the shower floor for both days (and...

We stayed at Sossus Dune Lodges for the first two nights of a small group safari we'd booked, and we were delighted with these accommodations. The cottages are spacious and well appointed (including provision of a full array of toiletries), with lovely views of the desert landscape. We found the meals good, as well as plentiful, with only one "miss"...

We spent two nights here on our self drive trip around Namibia. The rooms are stunning, with beautiful views across the desert towards the canyon. Breakfast was OK, and dinner was a choice of two main courses (fairly standard in Namibia). The pool was chilly, but we were travelling in September. The best thing is that by staying here, you...

The lodge is located inside Sossusvlei which is a big plus since you basically have the whole place for yourself. The rooms are nice and theres no light pollution which means you will have a great view of the stars at night. I took the sunrise tour and was totally worth it. Instead of walking over big daddy i walked...

Sossus Dune Lodge is the only accommodation inside the borders of Sossusvlei and if you want to be at Dooievlei or on the dunes early in the morning, you have no choice. it was expensive, but a lovely experience. The room was impressive and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The drivers that take you and your luggage from the...

Stayed here one night as part of an accommodated tour with Wild Dog Safaris. Unfortunately, we arrived just as the sun was setting(beautiful by the way), and up and out early for sunrise at the dunes. The "cottages" were cozy, and comfy, and would have liked to spend just a bit more time. Dinner was wonderful with a tasty oryx...

Very beautiful cottages, well decorated and comfortable but appart from that, the good thing about this place is its location within the park, which allows you to be at the dunes earlier than the rest of tourists than will arrive after you; if you want to appreciate the beautiness of the sunrise in the dunes, you need to be there...

We've just spent four magical days at this lodge and in the adjacent dunes. When we booked, we were concerned that, as a government-run lodge, it would be like the Sanparks in Kruger, where the standard of accommodation and service varies wildly. We needn't have worried: our rooms were spacious, well equipped, even new linen on the beds. The food...
