Hotel service is Superb!!! We were pampered our whole stay that our daughter does not want to leave the hotel anymore :) Im glad I chose this hotel to celebrate our daughter's birthday. The staff made it extra special and unforgettable for us. We love Dusit Thani Mactan and we will recommend it to everyone we know specially those with young kids. The pool is so much inviting, so beautiful sunset. Our bed is comfy too, delicious breakfast and pastries too.

I am not recommending this resort overall. Our reserved room was not available upon check in. Check in time was 3pm and it was past that time when we arrived. We had to upgrade to be checked in. Our family booked a total of 2 rooms and both should have breakfast included but when it was time for us to eat, 2 members got a push back. The woman at the restaurant had to ask us to rectify it with reception even when I showed her the booking details which included the breakfast option. And then reception told me to wait until 0830a because their reservations team need to check. When we checked out, reception did not bring it up. I'm not sure if they fixed it or they "forgot" about it. There's clearly something wrong with their process or system. We checked out early. Never had this experience with other resort hotels, and this one supposedly aims for the 5 star experience. Probably not coming back again.

Dear Miles Jude, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at our Resort. We appreciate your feedback and take our guests comments very serious. After investigation on what happened during your stay, we do understand that you should have your room ready at the standard check-in time which is at 3 pm and we do apologize if we were not able to deliver on that expectation. The keys were given to you for the 2 rooms a little bit past the standard check in time and our team wanted to give you an upgrade to our sea view room so you can have a much better experience. As for the breakfast, based on the booking details it was not part of the package for one of the two rooms you booked. Our restaurant staff tried to verify with the front desk and as a courtesy, for the delayed check in, we did provide you with complimentary breakfast for the second room. The team should have informed you upon check out that the breakfast was given to you complimentary. We would certainly improve the way how we communicate better for any future situations such as yours. We would be glad to welcome you back during any of your future visits to Mactan to show you our gracious hospitality. Please feel free to reach out to me directly for any assistance required. Graciously yours, Marx Salazar Front Office Manager marxlengel.salazar@dusit.com

I have never reviewed a hotel, however I feel like I have to here. For me to take some of my time to write this, says a lot. This is not what I would expect from the DUSIT THANI chain. I am a regular guest of the Dusit when I travel, and this was my first time to stay at this location. I was really looking forward to it! I could not get a good night sleep as the pillows had a smell to them. I travel often for work and of course there are certain things that may or may not be consistent. This was, for me, unbearable. It was like when you don’t let a towel fully dry and it has that musty kind of smell. I had asked for them to be changed, however when I got back to the room it was the same.. so not sure if they had or not. Room: no slippers, no robe, no coffee or tea for the morning. I had stayed at the Seda in the city the 2 days prior to this getaway and the Seda provided all of the above, in addition to hand sanitizer, a mask, and wipes! …and a welcome cake. In my mind I thought the Dusit was far beyond the standard of hotel than a Seda. I was told when I checked in that Lobby Bar was open.. turned out, when I was excited to go and spend the sunset there it was closed.. and most of the seats were taken at the other bar. I was also told the only restaurant open was the pool bar/resto, which was fine I guess. However, on the Saturday I went down early to get my table that I like (at the pool bar/resto) set up near a plug and got my laptop setup, only to find out it was closed… not even coffee! …and they had decided to open the lobby restaurant without notifying guests.. by the time I got there all good seats were taken.. and I had woken up early to avoid any crowds. I was not informed of a beach when I checked in.. and maybe that was on purpose.. because when I went exploring.. they have a little beach.. it was not blocked off and the sign shows it was open and with limited capacity… however it was unattended, no life guard, and the saddest part it was polluted with garbage in the water.. which is to bad because it is a nice quiet little spot. Doesn’t take a lot of time or labor to pick out empty water bottles or trash from a tiny beach. I tend to like to eat light, or healthy on vacations as there is nothing better than being one with nature and eating great healthy food. However they did not have anything to offer, no fruit bowls or healthy snack food, or even fresh spring rolls, or skewers etc. any snack food was carb to the max or breaded and deep fried. The food was below what I expected from a Dusit Thani.. I got Thursday night room service (inasal) and the chicken was overdone, dry and burnt. Aside from that you would think that the Dusit Thani would have Pad Thai?? Nope.. or Satay skewers?? Nope… I found that odd. I was literally confused at the lack of Thai food as well as any good options for “non carb” appetizers like gambas, or skewers, or fresh spring rolls etc. on the second day I skipped lunch, and ended up getting a Burger on my second night for dinner. For the last night, I was excited as they have a poolside bbq buffet.. which is one of my favorite things! However to my surprise the staff were not enforcing face masks when people were walking around, especially when people were walking around the buffet food with no masks! I did tell the manager and he quickly addressed it however by that time it was too late and I was sketched out and went back to the room, and ordered another burger.. I found they did not have a a strict protocol on wearing masks at all.. even during the breakfast buffet I saw guests walking around the food and by tables with no masks. Not addressed by the staff. I would love to go back and give it a second chance, but I am not sure I would want to spend the money again. I felt like I wanted to ask for a refund for an unpleasant stay.

Staff will look at the color of your skin and check you nationality and they will then decide how they will treat you. Good luck if you are a dark skinned Filipino. Place is ok but customer service is close to none.
