Stayed there for two nights, great room, the kids in the hallway playing soccer were a bit annoying, but that went away after 10pm. The room was comfy, clean, and I would stay again. Parking was a chore, no one had assigned spots, so it was more of a get in where you fit in.

All of the staff was very nice and accommodating. The hotel rooms were old, outdated but clean and quiet. My doors locks didn't work from the outside but the worker was unable to change the batteries during that time of the day so all good! She tried. Enjoyed my stay!

Wish I had known the pool was closed. Room was ok, beds were comfortable, security latch was broken and carpet looked shabby. Otherwise room was clean. Check-in was fine except the receptionist didn’t tell me that my key card wouldn’t work on the outside door, I only found out once I carried all my stuff up from outside, then had to bring it all back down again, put it in my car, walk back to the front desk because the card didn’t work. You have to get to your room from inside the hotel-it’s a long way inside the hotel through a bunch of doorways to get to the back…that wasn’t explained when he gave me the card. Would have saved me 15 min if he had. I wasn’t in a rush, but it’s just annoying after a long drive.

Nice clean motel with friendly staff and good sized rooms. We were there for a snowmobiling vacation. The motel was situated perfectly for us, having walking access to downtown, and direct access to snowmobile trails. The sauna is very nice to warm up after a long day of snowmobiling activity.
The Companion restaurant next door has an excellent chef and high-quality food!
We had a minor mix-up with our reservation, but the staff were able to correct it immediately.
The front rooms have to contend with noisy trucks and snowplows going by constantly; the back rooms have some noise from the train yard, but it is consistent, not loud, and fades to the background; it did not disturb us in the least. In fact we very much enjoyed watching the train yard in action. For anyone interested in seeing trains in action, this is the perfect place to go!

Very noisy, I had to ask for my room to be cleaned, carpet never vacuumed. Sauna worked once but I had to ask. The front desk lady this evening on April 23, 2024 was absolutely not willing to help or call management to fix the electrical breaker to operate the 2 saunas malfunctioning. I told I’d write this review and she said go ahead nothing I can do. I paid to stay here, my goodness what must customer service.

The only reason this hotel warrants even a one star rating is because the staff were friendly. That's about the only good point of this hotel. The staff were very nice.
The location we had to park in was around the back of the building next to the train tracks and it did not feel safe at all. We had some random guy approach us that came from the darkness on the other side of the road as we were trying to get our items in our room.
And out room , oh my. The good thing was, it was clean. The carpet didn't give me a good feeling but the rest was clean.
And that's where the good ended. We had two doors, one to the outside and one leading to the hallway. One door (the one to the hallway) had half the security latch and not the other half so we couldn;t latch it. It did have the deadbolt so we locked that. The door to the outside, both the security latch pieces were missing so we couldn't use it. And the deadbolt didnt turn or work at all. So basically the only secutiry we had from the outside was the door closing. If someone had a key they could have come right in. We slept with a chair jammed in between the door and the bed so no one could open it. As two women travelling with two small kids we felt very unsafe and did not sleep much that night.

Even though I booked the hotel online and paid in advance I was charged twice and still I'm struggling to get refund. Front desk associate took my credit card and never returned it until next day morning. Be careful with these guys

It was this April 2021 when the unusual snowstorm happened that day. I needed to have a room to stay. It was a great thing that Super8 Hearst has available room for me and I was spared from freezing inside my car. Merci Super8 Hearst!

We booked rooms on our way West and then again on our return.
First night we had rooms on the first floor facing the front. And yes, you guessed it, the traffic noise is loud but calms in the evening and night. The air conditioner helps with the traffic noise.
The rooms are clean, but dates. Clean is the main appeal for me.
Checkin was simple. Not a fan of the car draped in Canadian flags parked out front. I believe this car is owned by staff as it was there the second night we stayed as well. This flagged car is a unfriendly reminder of the nonsense that went on in Ottawa during the protests earlier this year, so this bothered us to see this. Had I not booked for a second night already, I wouldn’t have stayed here again because of this car.
The second night we stayed we had rooms on the second floor. Now here is a tip if you are staying here, choose the first floor. It’s quieter and a little more updated. All of the rooms on the second floor were also even more worn and dates, but clean.
Breakfast was standard and the are was clean.

Overall, for the price it's ok.
Front desk Céline très gentille.
Loved the large art on the walls.
Beds fairly comfortable, but no king bed rooms.
Pool and hot tub looked awesome - COVID screwed us there (we stayed during lockdown).
Breakfast: severely lacking, would have liked bagels and toast option at least. There was fruit, oatmeal packages and some random muffins and yogurts. Juice machine good. Nespresso coffee machine the highlight.
Bathrooms ok, showers water pressure ok, but quickly runs from hot to cold.
Oldest TV ever LOL....louder the volume, the more distorted it became.
MAIN reason for low rating is due to noise. The entire hotel, the floors feel like they're made of plywood. You can constantly hear the movements of everyone else, up, beside, under, etc. Could hear snow machines for hours from about 10 til 2, as soundproofing even to outside wasn't very good.
Overall, I would stay again if the hottub was open (that's why we booked it).
**Context: travelling as essential worker returning to work after a week back home, randomly chose Hearst to stop, next time would carry on or stop in Kap. The general public in this town does not wear a mask and nothing open past 9pm.

Hmmmm, not sure ? Didn't see any dogs around ? But maybe they put those with pets in the back.... I would have preferred the back anyway..... closer to the pool and away from the noisey Main Hwy going right through town and its under construction when we were there a week ago !
