Upon planning the trip, my choice was based on the hotel's overall rating at 8.5 "Fabulous" and its location. Savings were also offered as part of the online Deal for a room with 2 double beds - which looked comfortable. Upon arriving, we were shocked to learn that "economy" rooms are not part of the main building but at street level (motel-style) with access from and view on the busy main street. We requested a room change but the receptionist said she could do nothing about it unless we pay at least 30% more. We felt stuck. The bathroom was super tiny. The breakfast section was mostly closed. Breakfast itself was a farce: a fruit and a wrapped low-grade muffin. No plates, no cups or cutlery. Upon complaining to management, COVID-19 was given as an excuse - a bad one since other hotels we've been to days earlier did offer a much wider range of choices incl. GF in addition to regular ware. We ended up paying roughly $150 incl. taxes. It was definitely not worth it! I do not recommend.

This hotel room was so well adapted that I looked for tiny details to make it more perfect. I am a paraplegic and the things I adored about this room was: NO CARPET, bed at perfect height for transfers, a bench for suitcase, the size of the room and bathroom. The biggest problem with this room was that the light switch beside the bed was too far away when in bed. Other things to make this room perfect (so I am being nitpickety) would be that the closet pole was too high as well as the cupboard above the coffee machine and the towel holder above the toilet. Their desk was too low for someone in a wheelchair to fit under. And finally the last detail to make the room perfect: the curtain 'stick' wasn't long enough. Some other hotels have the stick with a big circle at the end for people with poor prehension. Its is for sure when I return to that area, I will be staying at this hotel! Thanks for the wonderful stay!!

The staff here were very friendly. and the room was very good. The morning breakfast left a lot to be desired. Some kind of egg dish that was very rubbery. Went to Tim Horton's later for another breakfast.

It was 32 degrees outside and the air conditioner was not working. The very pleasant girl at the front desk tried to make it work, and kept telling me it was working but when I told her it was cooler outside than in my room she gave up. She returned an hour later after several other guests complained and someone had shown her how to work the remote. The instruction manual in the desk was useless. The breakfast was lame. The bar was not open and it was ridiculously expensive. $200 and noisy. Not sound proofed between the rooms. I heard the guy next door coughing all night.

Outside look of the hotel is disturbing to say the least but once you get inside, rooms are large and very clean and bathrooms are modern and very clean. Important to take the superior rooms. We had rooms with view on the lake. Terrasse in the summer must be very nice. Breakfast was self-service but pretty decent. Not charming but efficient. Why not invest a little money in the decoration...???
