We stayed in the "master suite" which is the biggest room and we found it very comfortable. Breakfast was at a set time but not too early. Very nice fruit salad, cereal and toast with a large variety of home-made jams. If you wanted a cooked breakfast, you had to pay $7 extra which is a little unusual but didn't bother us as we are not big eaters. Eileen, the owner, was very informative on local things to see and do. There is a small self-service laundry nearby.

This place was a hoot. Very laid back, guests had the run of the common room and the kitchen (including refridgerator and freezer, not often the case in B&Bs). Our room was barely larger than the bed, with the bathroom wedged into the closet. Breakfast was lots of homemade bread and jams with a bowl of cereal (not a cereal assortment laid out to help yourself, you choose your cereal the night before and you get your bowl o' flakes or what not). For $7 extra you can get eggs and bacon. Lots of people staying here in season so lots of folks to chat with. Here's a tip, do not stay one night; the ferry is very unreliable and you could end up getting there at 5pm and leaving at 9am and seeing nothing of the island. We stayed 3 nights which was perfect, though truth be told, there

This was a wonderful Bed and Breakfast. We only stayed there one night, but it was clean, warm and welcoming! We were traveling from NY so the room size was fine with us. There's enough room for a nice big bed, a table, and to get to the bathroom (bigger than my room at home!) We also noted that the one nice thing was that the living and dining space areas are so nice that you end up wanting to spend time there anyway. It was some other guests we spoke to in the living room that ended up defining the next part of our trip! The breakfast, although modest, was good. We got porridge and it was, I think, the only time we got a nice healthy porridge breakfast (with lots of fixin's!) on our trip through Newfoundland.

We were so fortunate to select Peg's B&B on our Fogo Island two day stay. Not only was Fogo Island a memorable visit, Eileen and Gerald Freake are terrific hosts and great ambasadors for beautiful Fogo Island and NL in general. Eileen's healthy breakfasts were excellent, to include her homemade bread and local berry jams. The B&B is centrally located on the Island and Eileen was so helpful in directing us to the highlights of the Island, including a tour of the new Fogo Island Inn. Gerald has been the teacher for the famed Fogo Island Accordion Group that has toured at summer festivals, not only in NL but other provinces over the years. Such a success story. He imparts his knowledge of accordion music and his passion of keeping this musical tradition alive. This is

We enjoyed our stay here, Our room was comfy although a little on the small side. It did have a nice view of the harbour. Breakfast was a little skimpy, and if you wanted hot, you had to pay $7.00 per person. We didn't. Location is great, right in the middle of town. What made this place great was the hosts. Gerald chatted with us and told us lots of stories and info about Fogo Island. A reallly nice couple running a really nice B&B.

We had stayed at Peg's for one night a couple years ago -- this time we stayed for 2 nights, and had one of the new rooms with the private entrance. It was nice and quiet there, and the bed was so comfortable. We enjoyed the porridge, fresh fruit salad and toasted home-baked bread with a variety of jams for breakfast. It was nice to visit with the other guests over tea in the evening in the living room. Gerald and Eileen are very friendly and we enjoyed the accordian music by Gerald and a few of his students. I would highly recommend staying at Peg's while exploring this neat island.

Pegs was a comfortable place to stay - but the stairs leading to the bedrooms were a little trying with luggage and would be difficult for older folk. The breakfast was mediocure considering I had to pay for my hot breakfast extra to my stay ($7 more per person and it was only 2 eggs and 3 slices of bacon). The place was very clean and we did have our own bathroom. The view from our window was great. The service - not the as friendly as I would have exspected in Newfoundland and have received in Newfoundland. I feel I can say that as I as raised in Newfoundland. But if you are looking for quiet, clean accomidations this one is for you.

Peg's is very centrally located. Eileen and Gerald are wonderful and do their best to make sure you see the highlights of the island ( and there are many). I highly recommend Peg's and Fogo island as a destination. Newfoundland is one of Canada's best kept secrets.

We spent one night at Peg's on Fogo Island. Although our room was quite small, but the bed was comfortable and the room and public areas were spotlessly clean. The owner (Eileen) is friendly and helpful and the breakfast served was excellent. The reason I did not give thjis property an 'excellent' rating was because of the size of the room. Everything else was perfect! '

We had the pleasure of staying at Peg's for 3 nights and our experience echoes the positive reviews of other writers. Eileen and Gerald were great hosts and warmly shared a part of their lives with us. Our room was very comfortable (with a view of the harbour across the street), we felt welcome in the house and the homemade bread and jams from wild berries (thanks to Eileen!) were delicious. Unfortunately, we weren't able to hear any button accordian music live, but Gerald continues to keep this part of Newfoundland culture going. The hikes Eileen recommended were great and the effort that Fogo's residents have put into sharing their history gave us a good introduction to the area. We're glad that Fogo has people like Eileen and Gerald and Peg's B&B!
