We stayed in the French villa which my husband had organized for our wedding anniversary. What a beautiful villa, nice and spacious. You can hear the ocean which is walking distance. We come to waipu frequently and would definitely stay at bream bay again. The hosts were lovely too. One night was not enough :)

The welcome was second to none, and the facilities excellent. Actually it passed one of my little private tests, which has become a bit of a game - do they provide hot chocolate, or milo, and they do! On a more serious note, there are one or two little criticisms. I found the layout not very homely, or user friendly,...

We stayed at Bream Bay Lodge in Waipu just before Christmas last year. It was hard to book as it was near the peak season but the staff was very understanding and helpful. The room was clean and the service was great. Highly recommended.

We stayed two nights in the studio accommodation. Hosts/owners were friendly, gracious and helpful with dinner and activity recommendations. We were given a tour of the property and made "friends" with the rescue animals. Kayaks were available to navigate across he small estuary to the bird sanctuary sand dunes. Over the Dunes was the most amazing beach with not sole...

Stayed in a self contained unit for three nights then extended our stay by two nights in February 2015 as we enjoyed the place so much. Clean, well-appointed furnishings. Rural setting with a number of domestic animals on the property. The hosts accommodate rescue animals so it is great to know that a part of our rent was going towards...

In the past year we have stayed at over 40 different hotels and this would be one of our worst experiences in hospitality. Beware that to get to the beach you need to drive 2 kms from this lodge and it also has no wifi - we were unaware of both of these issues and feel misled by the owners...

Needed an overnighter heading northwards on a business trip and came upon Bream Bay Lodge, it ticked the boxes for me, comfy bed, handy to a couple eateries and value for my dollar. It was a spacious room with coffee making facilities, quality toiletries and squishy pillows. Hosts were quietly unobtrusive and business-like, just what I like when travelling on...

We have just spent three days at Bream Bay Lodge. We stayed in the Country French Cottage which was a beautiful, spacious one bedroom cottage with a lovely, open and bright atmosphere. The rooms all have french doors that open out to a patio and a spacious lawn which overlooks the estuary. Annette and Grant have a wonderful collection of...

This is the second year that we have stayed at the Bream Bay Lodge and absolutely love it.We stay in the small cottage which is great for a short stay as it does not have a kitchen but has a microwave and BBQ so you can still cook your own meals. The cottage is very private and well maintained. The...
