As one or two reviews have pointed out, it does look a little shabby from the front. Don't be put off. The staff are very helpful. The rooms are small but very well appointed. The air conditioning is probably the most efficient I've found anywhere, including four and five star hotels. The restaurant is excellent. The wines list... well, we're in the Medoc here. The wine list is as you would expect. The pool is great. Table tennis and badminton in the very pleasant back garden. We've stayed here three times now. I look forward to stay number four.

We stayed in the hotel for one night when we started our bikingtour. We found that the hotel is of very low standard and that the rooms really need renovation. To get to our rooms we had to pass along a corridor and outside the big corridor windows was a roof full of dog poop! It was obvious that the roof had been used as some kind of dog exercise area and not been cleaned for a long time. We found it disgusting. The garden also needs care and maintainance. The restaurant was of good standard and so was the winelist. Staff was friendly. We would not recomend this hotel to friends.

We spent two nights in the hotel while attending a wedding nearby. We were quite apprehensive when we pulled into the car park as the exterior is really not the most welcoming. Our room was clean, it could do with some updating but it was perfectly acceptable, We had a wheelchair accessible room and it was very spacious and well positioned on the ground floor near the door. After the wedding we slept late and were disappointed to have missed breakfast, it was a pity that we weren't given the option of some pastries to have with our coffee. We made sure to get up early the next day and got to appreciate the well provisioned breakfast. We had a mad dash back to the hotel one night to make it in time for dinner and the kitchen was very accommodating with our late order. Food was excellent (again such a pity that this is all hidden behind a shabby exterior), wait staff were also excellent, at no time did we feel rushed or under pressure to leave although we were the last customers. Over the very hot weekend we made full use of the swimming pool which is situated in lovely gardens, something again belied by the hotels frontage. All in all a surprisingly happy stay, hoping the owners appreciate their staff that carry the hotel and make it easier to overlook the decorative and updating issues.

Dont be disappointed when you first catch sight of this hotel - it is on a very busy road. Once inside, the staff are really good and the rooms are clean and comfortable with good air-conditioning. There is a pool and a wood at the back of the hotel with walking trails. The main draw of this place is the restaurant, which was very good and busy with locals as well as hotel guests. We had booked half board, and had a fixed menu with no choice, however the meal was excellent, as was the wine (additional cost). Guests with dietary restrictions or requirements ought to inform the hotel in advance. Breakfast was great with lots of choice and we were given loads of information about the surrounding area and vineyards. Excellent value for money.
