The host Pierre was really polite and you feel like at home. His passion for genuine and simple cooking is visible to everyone. We bough some typical product. Breakfast and dinner was the best we had in corsica

We wanted a quiet, intimate and authentic stay, away from Bastia, and found that at U San Martinu. The drive here from Bastia was beautiful, hugging along the coastline of the Cap Corse. Arriving at U San Martinu, you can appreciate all the little details they have put into their guest house, showcasing pictures of the family, offering local and homemade produce in their little shop, welcoming us with a generous Corsican family-style dinner which you can opt for 30 euros per person, to the homely touches in the room. Our room overlooked the garden and had a nice, private spot for us to sit in the sun. Apart from the thin walls and floors of the guesthouse, if you have louder guests or families with children staying the night may be difficult for light sleepers (which we didn't mind), we would highly recommend U San Martinu for an authentic taste of Corsica!

Tucked under the towering forested escarpment of the Monte Stello , this ferme auberge offers a warm welcome to weary randonnoneurs who have been wending their way along one of the many beautiful walking routes of this island. Run by Marine and Pierre Jean ( and their children who are often seen playing ), the rooms are cool and comfortable, with dry stone walls and rustic furniture, but also excellent showers and soaps. Outside is a terrace shaded by a wooden lean-to festooned with greenery and flowers . If it gets too hot( as it can on Cap Corse) there is a swimming pool. Down the hillside is Marine de Sisco if you prefer to swim in the sea. The evening meal is served communally at long tables and comes in never ending gargantuan courses of home produced food wonderfully cooked and served in tureens from which you help yourself by Jean Pierre.~He will insist you finish it all ,so you need to build up a good appetite..The meal and wine come at a set price- the wine ( fresh and local) flows until you say say "stop". Last night we had a grilled sardine salad, fried calamari, squid stuffed with minced lamb in a piquant red gravy, and the wonderful local cheesecake. The wine comes for Patriminio, the eponymous wine region of the Cape. As I write the breeze outside is rustling the brunches of the abundant trees outside and cooling the room as the sun rises in a perfectly blue sky. If rustic comfort appeals to you, then you will find it here in ladle fulls.

First of it should be mentioned on Booking’s page that check in time is set to 5PM. Even though no one was there! I called 5:15 and he could not speak English. That should be mentioned as well on Booking. Anyhow he managed to say 10 minutes which became 20. No dinner! Closed. Cleaning? Sand on the floor. Bedsheets had seen their best days, overwashed numerous times. Strange smell in the toilett/shower. Bed was like a skiing slope, higher on one end and lower on the other side. No chance to have your own bedlamp as both was controlled from one common switch. Only one plastic cup in the toilett. Breakfast, no normal coffee cups. You should use large bowl which normally you have milk and cereals in!!!! I cannot understand the votes 8.8 on Booking as it is not cheap as well. VERY dated. A place for Frenchmen maybe??
