Popped in today for a Sunday lunch, we were served drinks immediately and found a free table with ease. The menu had plenty to choose from, my wife went for the gammon and I chose the trio of meat Sunday roast. Meals arrived within 10 minutes or so and we both agreed that our food was superb, meat perfectly cooked,...

I called in for lunch as The woolpack looks lovely from the outside and there was a board showing lunchtime deals. Once inside the decor and setting was pleasant but was surprised that there were not many people in. I ordered garlic mushrooms to start and lasagne for my main. My partner ordered prawn cocktail to start and pie for...

We had early tea on a Wednesday. The pub was empty when we walked in. But this did not put us off. We got a lovely welcome from the staff. We had booked a table. But the girl behind the bar, said as it was quiet, we could choose where we sat. The menu has a really good choice and...

Rang about a table and sat down in half an hour. The restaurant and bar was busy but it seemed everyone was being attended to. Good choice of drinks and a good menu. A lovely dinner, starters, main and dessert and a good plate full. Well done to the chef, bar staff and staff waiting on. Will be visiting again....

The food was perfect despite such a large volume of orders. My most recent visit was for lunch mid week. It was very quiet but the food was still fantastic. The...

Popped in for a quick tea on a Tuesday evening. This is the first time I've been in the Woolpack in 30 years and obviously it looks a little different. What hasn't changed, though, are the fundamentals of this lovely pub. It has always thrived on good food and a warm, friendly welcome, which it continues to deliver in spades....

Lovely pub. Very good food and nice beers. Looks like it has just been refurbished (looks very good) and has a nice feel, doesn't feel like you are on top of each other either. Good beer, tastes good and good selection, I will be adding it to the good beer guide recommendations. They currently serve Elland brewery ales and landlord....

On arrival at 7.30 we were shown to our table in the conservatory. No waiter service so fetched drinks and then ordered food at the bar. This involved to-ing and fro-ing as first choice (lamb shoulder)wasunavailable.By the time our food arrived at 8.30 we were alone in the conservatory so the atmosphere was flat. When we were nearly finished eating we were asked...

Very accommodating of our party of 20 including young children and a dog. Great food with substantial portions, all home cooked. Friendly staff and homely feel about the place. Will definitely come again!
