I have stayed and eaten at Hotel Yakunah a few times over previous years, and reviewed it way back then. Briefly in Progreso this week, I immediately cruised by to my old favorite, looking forward to their beautiful gardens and wonderful breakfast . Now, a place called Hotel Quinta Progreso inhabits the building that used to be the Hotel Yakunah,...

We had the opportunity to stay at the Hotel Yakunah for one week in February 2013. We have visited Progreso, Mexico on a number of occasions over the past several years and enjoy the people and the relaxing pace of life in this small town. This was our first stay at the Hotel Yakunah and we were extremely happy with...

Everytime we would come down to breakfast they had the TV on, in the news...Fox, I'm on vacation I really don't want to be listening to the stuff I'm trying to get away from. Besides that the Dutch lady owner was very nice, I loved her breakfasts, and the bar tender who's a local was very nice guy. Besides that...

I was traveling on business and needed a clean, quiet place to crash, it turned out to be a perfect fit. The room and bathroom were huge and led out to a 2nd story patio overlooking the beach and ocean. Jim is a great chef and Elky was extremely nice and waited on me like royalty. Thank you guys for...

This is the place you want to be when visiting Progreso. The hotel is clean- the food excellent- jam sessions on Wednesdays are something you do not want to miss. Breakfasts are delightful. Elke, Jim are great hosts, and make one feel right at home.

While we stayed elsewhere during Jan / Feb, we frequented the restaurant / bar as often as we could. Great food / music & dance and at reasonable prices. Seemed like a meeting place for the ex pats. It gets very busy on week ends but the owners & staff are friendly and they do their very best ... Will...

We stayed at the Yakunah 4 nights in March. Our downstairs room was lovely room, good bathroom, but overlooking a small street level parking, so we did not open the window or blinds. The hotel is actually an old mansion that has been converted, it is not very large, the owners have done a great job. There is a nice...

Small boutique hotel (not really a B&B since breakfast isn't included) in a colonial home that the owners have fixed up very nicely. Our downstairs room was large and comfortable. Friends stayed in an upstairs room which shared a terrace where they could see the Gulf, but there's no internet connection upstairs. Great breakfasts and dinner. Garden area/pool is nice....

This small hotel is very clean and has tropical ambiance. The restaurant - Bar is lots of fun. We went there for their Saturday dinner and dance (6-7 Happy Hour) (must make reservations for dinner). We had lunch with live music (Wednesday 1-5) this was really fun. Friday evening is Karaoke and it also was enjoyable. This hotel caters to...

We stayed at Yakunah for 3 nights in January 2011. Pros: The hotel is very clean and beautifully renovated. Spacious rooms, tile floors, high ceilings, cozy inner backyard with a small pool. Location is quite far from the centro of Progreso, which is good if you want peace and quiet, but you'll need a car to get to the centro....
