Detailed Reviews
Very hard to rate because it's not a luxury resort or typical hotel. People go here for the thermal mineral bath which is very old and is believed to have healing properties. The thermal waters are pumped into a small pool on the grounds. The Parador's grounds are interesting because they've been there for a couple centuries, located on a pretty, quiet, country road, surrounded by a wall that our son loved to watch the iguanas climbing on. The rooms themselves are basic, not like any kind of tourist resort, kind of like being at a church retreat camp or something like that. I don't think there was any trouble getting a hot shower, I think the temperature and pressure were fine if I remember correctly. Cleanliness was fine. All the people there were really nice. At times it's so quiet there you feel like you're in a place that time forgot. The peaceful sound of the coquis at night was beautiful. There is a very pretty century old dining room on site with pictures from colonial times. We had a very pleasant dinner there, it was a lovely pink building with arched doors and a black and white tiled floor. It was just such a quiet place, you felt like you'd gone back in time or something. The service was extremely polite and nice. The power went out in the middle of the meal plunging us into darkness which was kind of fun. There's also a little bakery/convenience store/sandwich shop up the road where people from the golf club gather, great for breakfast or sandwiches etc (there's also a golf course next door, we've never used it ourselves.) Our favorite part of going to this place was just sitting in the thermal pool while looking out over the hills, and watching the iguanas on the wall. Our son loved all the little lizards and critters and climbing the mango trees and picking and eating mangos. You could actually hear ripe mangos just falling from the trees. The first time we went there there were maybe 6 other people there total. The second time (a spring break) there was only one other couple there. A nice local lady explained to our son about the two different kinds of mangos. We ate in the dining room and enjoyed the pleasant outdoor bar/canteen area the first time we were there. The second time I think maybe neither of those were open, I'm not sure. This place is totally off the beaten path and we just wound up here one time when we wanted to leave the San Juan area and explore. Stayed at Sheratons in Caguas and I think it was a Sheraton Las Palmas in the south somewhere, both nice, both with casinos. Then drove up through the hills and stayed at this parador in the pretty hilly Coamo area. Went back again the next time we were in PR. Frankly it was one of my most vivid and interesting memories from being in PR. Loved the trees, flowers, iguanas, etc. I would like to stay here again for a day or two and explore the surrounding area a little more, the town of Coamo, any local restaurants in the hills, etc. I think this place is pet friendly, I believe one couple there had their dog. Call in advance to confirm.

It all depends what your looking for.
The place is clean buy fairly old. Restaurant is not bad. The pools are great.
If you like thermal baths, these are the oldest in the western hemisphere and make it worth a stop by. Get a day room if you don't want to stay, its a real bargain.

I stayed there with my family. This is a great place off the beaten path. While it is true that it is under renovation and needs some maintenance, it's a good place to stay for a few days to enjoy the Thermal Baths and relax. Will come back.

Don't go by the old reviews. I guess they got the message. This place has been recently renovated and is worth every penny. The restaurant is fantastic!

there are some new rooms overlooking at the old rainforest tree. peace and love. Pools are relatively cleen. Very nice service. Spacious rooms, balcony, coqui sound. What else would you need. The worst period is the week-end, more people, more noise, less space.

Room was spacious and clean, althought bathroom fixtures were a bit ancient (girlfriend didn't like that).
It was cool enough at night not to need AC, but still had to listen to the neighbors' AC units.
Hot springs were pleasant enough, but not really worth maing this a "destination".
The restaurant was really not very good.

The Banos is a great place to stay. I enjoy the homey atmosphere and the relitave isolation from the "Big City lights and sounds." The food is excellent in their banquet room, the bar is a happening place some nights, and the pool / Hot Spring are the cats meow. Every time I am in Puerto Rico the Banos is the place I stay and where my friends are referred to.

Clean and well kept, but the great highlight was the bartender, Amarilis. She made the trip great! Her good attitude and professionalism made the bar a great place to hang out and have fun. She made very good mojitos and special drinks for the kids.

Was looking forward to a great stay as representative promoted the hotel with great expectations... but, from the minute we checked in...issues started:
* At checking, price discussed included only 2 nights as rep stated 3 days...we in turned viewed 3 days as nights, wrong assumption. Not sure who's fault oh well.
* No telephone in rooms
* No Wi-Fi
* TV didn't work the 1st night, but bar TV worked just fine
* Continental breakfast, what a joke.. 1 boiled egg with a diner roll and coffee.
* Breakfast open at 7, but cook doesn't come until 8am???
* 24-7 pool access, but by 10 gate closed, it seemed of from the gate
* Bistro open 24-7, just vending machines in it.
* Not enough towels, room for 4 people but only 2 towels, had to go to front desk everyday for more...house keeping if you take more than 2, why not leave as many as you take out?
* Our last night there had the biggest coco roach we seen in sometime, we took to dresser and left it outside, as it hid it self in it.
* Free movie ticket & Ice cream but neglected to say you must go downtown, no vouchers even given as you need to ask when you are going to it.
Would not recommend this place, I was really looking forward to bringing family back, but no way!

Thatās because there is no Banoās de Coamo, but you still have the thermal water falls at the bottom of the road which is open to the public but itās nothing fancy
Yes, there is a restaurant in the property. There are many options nearby as well.
Yo me quede con mi familia el 24/abril/16, y NO permitian nada de comida de afuera del hotel.. Tuvimos que estar subiendo y bajando de la habitacion al estacionamiento todo el tiempo para buscarle cositas a los nenes..
"Rooms are very basic, all rooms the same I think. People don't go there for luxury rooms. Centuries old thermal bath on site. Lovely century old dining room on site and also an outdoor bar/cantina but these may or may not be open. Bakery and golf course up the road. In a pretty, hilly area. I think it's pet friendly, last time we were there I think there was a couple with a dog, but confirm before going there. Very off the beaten path. I selected April 2013 because that was the earliest available date but I think the last time we were there was 2012."Read full review
