#1 of 5 hotels in Alquezar
Travellers' Choice
Casa Alodia consists of two buildings. In the building located on San Gregorio Street, you will find olivo (olive tree) and almendro (almond tree), ideal for two couples or a family with children. The rooms are decorated with alabaster windows, unpolished marble floors... The same style applies for the four rooms in the Arrabal Street building: boj (box), madrono (strawberry Tree), juncal (reed bed), and encina (oak), these last two with a terrace. Every detail in Alodia is inspired by the trees that the rooms are named after, with handcrafted touches.

We stopped in Alquézar for 2 nights on our way to dropping our son off at tennis camp in Pau. We were warmly greeted by Eva and delighted by the whimsical decor of Casa Alodia. The house is like a wonderland of mountain curiosities and old knick-knacks that seem to both welcome you sweetly like a cold glass of grandma’s lemonade in summer, and make you laugh out loud at times too. The artist who lovingly placed every item you see, has a sense of humor no doubt. Eva is a dedicated and refined hostess who is always available to answer any questions or offer advice about restaurants, historic sites or mountain walks and activities. We slept with the angels in Madroño room (above the bed is a hilarious and adorable installation of angels). The room is airy and spacious with a very warm yet elegant feel. There is a collection of reading books to enjoy in the wonderfully comfortable bed next to a large window offering stunning views of the valley below. We chose to have breakfast in the dining room but you can choose to have it in your room if you prefer. Each morning we were regaled with fresh bread and pastries, local jams, charcuterie, cheese and “membrillo" along with fresh squeezed orange juice and perfect coffee. So, next time you’re in the Spanish Pyrenees, do yourself a favor and stop by Casa Alodia (you must reserve of course) and experience a magical retreat. We love it and will go back very soon!

Wonderful little hotel in the laid-back town of Alquezar. Lovely decor and ambience, excellent breakfast included in the rate. We had the Juncal room with a balcony and breathtaking view. The hotel is small so there is not a full-time staff on hand in low season, but they are very accommodating if anything is needed. We really enjoyed the town's sites, restaurants, and very nice local people. It is apparently very popular in high season but in early November it was serene. We would definitely return.

Casa Alodia was one of the most beautiful, romantic places we have ever stayed. We booked the Encina room. The view from the balcony of the clay rooftops of the village of Alquezar and the mountains beyond was stunning. We loved the two-floor space, with the bedroom upstairs via a spiral staircase. The bathroom with rainfall shower was amazing. And the breakfast the next morning was beautifully prepared and presented. We loved the art and little rustic touches throughout the hotel. The little wooden speaker dock in the room for your cellphone was so creative! Alquezar is a very picturesque, special little corner of Spain. We stopped there to break up a drive from San Sebastian to Barcelona. Our only regret was not staying longer to take advantage of the fabulous rafting, hiking and climbing in the area.
