Wé stayed here 2 nights. The room is spacious and very clean. You will find a mini fridge, a/c and the beds are super comfortable. The little couple that owns the place are the sweetest and nicest people. They are very welcoming and friendly. Now as for Tobermory in terms of food you will find plenty of fish and ships restaurants unfortunately if you are looking for more you will have to go to another city. The big down for me is the coffee places. A simple medium size cappuccino is 6.89$ so make sure to bring some instant coffee you will find a kettle in your room or you can buy some at the little grocery store in the center on Bay street.Keep in mind most stores restaurants close pretty early. You will find BbQ in the back of the motel if you prefer to cook and also a fire place . BRING YOUR OWN WOOD. As for the sightseen the Grotto you must have a reservation due to safety measures due to covid.the center is about 10 minutes walk.

We enjoyed our short stay in the Cedar Vista motel. The owners were very friendly, welcoming and helpful and the accommodation simple, inexpensive and very comfortable. The motel is a short 15 minute walk from Tobermory's beautiful harbour. We are happy to strongly recommend the Cedar Vista motel to anyone visiting this lovely part of Ontario.

Very friendly, helpful managers. The lady even suggested alternative walking directions to the marina, minimizing staying on Hwy 6. There was also a bbq grill that guests can use. The room was decent, with a fridge, coffee maker, a table and a couple of chairs we could use for meals. A microwave is available for use in the office. There was one case though where we had to follow up about clean up. Understandable though because it was a busy time and we were embarassed as well since we did make a couple of messes/accidents.

I’m writing this as a public service. These reviews are fake. The motel is nothing like described and probably has new ownership since 2022.

The rooms are not cleaned thoroughly. We got moved to a second room and it wasn’t much better. The first had a dirty toilet and unchanged sheets. The second room had a dirty shower, blankets strewn and probably dirty sheets. The mattresses are from the 1970s. The decor from the 1960s. We slept in our clothes. Everything from the doors, plumbing, walls etc is falling apart and lack maintenance. The badly peeling paint on the doors should have tipped us off.

There is something strange about this place. People coming and going all night meeting up with the guy running the place.

In all the years we’ve relied on this forum for reviews this is the first that was so blatantly off. There is no way these reviews are real.

It was a $230 lesson for us.

I booked 4 rooms (2 rooms with Double Beds + Kitchenette; 2 rooms with 1 Queen Bed) for my whole family. There were 12 of us, just for 1 Saturday night. This is a family-friendly, clean motel. Location is short walk to Tobermory harbour and to experience other attractions. Though it was along Hwy 6, we found it peaceful and quite. Parking is right at your door, easier unloading and loading. We enjoyed our stay. Kuerig machine /coffee available in the rooms. It was relaxing ambiance sitting in colored chairs at the front yard.

Bonus was, we were able to do our BBQ, eat on picnic table, gathered around a pit fire, roast marshmallows at the backyard (we bought our woods from neighbor convenience store)

Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. If you have younger kids, with the kitchenette works best. Thank you, Wendy and Terry. Overall, t'was an amazing experience.

Stayed here for the long weekend and it was in the perfect spot! Walking distance to everything. It was very clean and the room also had a kurieg with pods and mugs! The owner and son allowed us to keep our bike and helmets there a bit longer until our boat tour. Lovely people and a great spot I highly recommend! Thank you

This is a family owned and operated motel. Hospitality was great! We stayed in room 1 which was very clean and sleeps 5 comfortably. It has a small fridge, A/C, TV and Wi-Fi. We enjoyed the large fire pit in the backyard and had other guests join us which was fun.

The new owners of this hotel are fantastic. The photo you see is not even of the hotel. This is a old photo they cannot change yet. It is cute, clean and plenty of hot water. The coffee is all day and very good. They just got started and I'm sure they will be adding improvements when needed. I will return in Sept.

I read the reviews and choose this motel but found out it is just ok.
Maybe I expected too much for around $100/ night in Tobermory.

The room is not as clean as other reviews.
There are some spiders in the bathroom( small black ones)
The bathroom is a little bit smelly.
The bed is not as clean as other hotels I have ever been, but still acceptable( Anyway We put our own bedspread on )
There is a patch board on the wall, which was broken .The wires are explored. They just use a disposable Plate to cover. It's not safe expcially for people who have children with them.

Rather than those, other things are ok.

One thing I could not understand is :

In the morning, the manager knock our door very, very heavily around 10:30 am and tell us the check out time is 11:00 am( He could tell us that when we checked in) . We were shocked, and I dont think that is very polite( Maybe I am too sensitive) Then My husband went to the front desk to pay. I continued packing our stuffs.

Then the manager came to knock our door other two times to tell us if we would not leave as soon as possible before 11:00 am, he will chagre us for another day.

We left the motel before11:00 am .

I dont understand why the manager tried to kick us out before the check out time and there were nobody waiting for our room.

The model us pretty average, except for the bed that is really comfortable and clean. The moquette smells a bit and the decor is pretty old. I would have been excited if it had costed at least minus 20%. I think the price was too high for the quality of the stay.
