Detailed Reviews
We really lucked out when we had to cancel our international travel plans and were able to snag the last August availability at the Forest House!
Christopher & Spencer are extremely considerate & professional, and The Forest House is set up perfectly to support social distancing & privacy.
Our suite had its own small patio where I enjoyed breakfast everyday, and a private entrance. Bathroom & main room are separated by a small private hallway, which meant my husband could blissfully sleep in while I went back & forth 18 times having a shower, reading a bit of newspaper, brushing my teeth, checking my messages, etc etc as I like to do in the morning.
It’s an easy & scenic walk from the property to Big Tub Harbour for dining, swimming, catching the ferry for a boat tour. We didn’t have to drive once!
We’ll definitely be back assuming we can find someone to babysit our kids again 🤞🤞🤞

New ownership at The Forest House B&B in October 2021 and they have already made some beautiful improvements. Our room was very nice, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We were delighted by the sitting area outside our room and loved watching the birds enjoying the feeders!
The breakfast was great and served with a smile - and on 'real' dishes - no paper plates or cups. All the coffee/tea you could drink included.
Backyard and fire pit will be available to guests in the spring of 2022 after improvements are made and we look forward to a return trip and sitting around the fire.
This B&B is within walking distance to the village which is a real bonus.
New ownership will bring a new life to this amazing place. Check it out.

We spent 2 nights at The Forest House and it exceeded all of our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The room was incredibly clean, including the fresh towels and linens. The location was quiet and the fact it was nestled in the trees and away from the main road was wonderful. Christopher was friendly and helpful, and the pre-ordered breakfasts delivered in the morning were fresh and added a personal touch to the experience. We would love to come back!

Would never come back here or recommend this place to anyone. The location + breakfast was just "OK" but the host was beyond unprofessional and hostile towards us. We were late for our check in time due to traffic, downtown closures and car troubles, and had given the host 4 hours notice of this, instead of being sympathetic and flexible they locked us out of our room and forced us to find accommodations elsewhere for that night. We literally lost 300$+ for a night we didn't even use. No partial refund, nothing.
We ended up finding a motel in a nearby town, which quite frankly, I wish we had just stayed there the whole time. This stressful situation ruined our entire anniversary weekend as we had planned around staying there the first night, and so had missed our boat tour due to the changes in our itinerary.
The host made a poor attempt to smooth things over by offering us a complimentary late check out time, which we actually paid for months ago, so in reality they offered us absolutely nothing and fully knew the inconvenience they caused us during this time. I reached out to the host privately to see if they would be open to a resolution before leaving a bad review, but was met with such hostility, truly appalled that this place continues to remain open with this level of unprofessionalism.
I actually travel/write blogs for a living, and they will never get my business or recommendation. Avoid at all costs, seriously, there's way better places out there that don't treat you in this abusive way. Really disappointed and hope they change their attitudes for the better.

My partner and I spent 4 nights at the B&B and we believe it is the best place to stay in Tobermory! Very close to the center (about a 10min walk, half of it by the water so super nice) but far enough to have a calm stay away from the crowds. Our Forest View Suite with a king bed was very confortable, included a useful little fridge and the bathroom was clean and beautifully decorated! Chris and Spencer are very nice and available and always ready to answer any question/share their best recommendations for the area. And special mention to the breakfast!!! Great coffee, large selection of choices (fruits, granola, nuts, quiches, yogurt etc.) and amazing freshly baked croissants (Spencer you rock!)!! Thanks again so much guys!

Lovely B&B tucked in the woods and just a ten minute walk to downtown. Hazel and Martha were wonderful hosts. They served beautiful homemade breakfasts of quiche, yogurt, muffins and fresh fruits Everything was absolutely delicious for both our breakfasts. The rooms are well equipped and spotless. Comfortable beds and cotton linens, made for a wonderful sleep. We loved the tranquility and enjoyed having our morning tea and coffee on the balcony listening to the birds singing. In the evening we sat on the same balcony with our glasses of wine stargazing. The balcony chairs were very comfortable. We'll definitely stay here again. Thank you Hazel and Martha, you were such great hosts and awesome cooks!!!

Place is ok, but very basic breakfast with nothing warm except 1 hard boiled egg. Great looking backyard with campfire ready to use but access to backyard is forbidden to guests. Definitely overpriced!
Owner forces you to sign a rental agreement which is abusive, in that it is a one-way protection for the owners, and then threatens eviction if you do not sign. The agreement gives the owners the right to charge any amount on the credit card they have on file in case of damage to property. Also forces you to agree to not sue the owners in the event that you have an accident on their property.

Hi Iluvtravels101, thanks for taking the time to write a review of our property.....again. This is the 3rd review that you and your husband have wrote regarding a single stay. For anyone interested the other 2 reviews about this one stay are on google under the names Nancy and Francois. Originally you booked through booking.com then you canceled as you forgot you had a "wedding" to attend. Our standard cancelation fee was charged. Instead of paying the fee you asked if you could re-instate your booking, which we allowed (we were not obligated to allow this). So I guess this wedding you were supposed to attend wasn't that important or maybe just made up. Also we do have a standard rental agreement. This outlines both our responsibilities as hosts and your responsibilities as guests. This is similar to any rental agreement that you sign at any hotel. We wish you the best in the future and hope to not hear from you again....a 4th time.

A great place to stay, nice and close to downtown Tobermory but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Surrounded by trees. Fresh breakfasts in a fully-equipped kitchen! Hostesses Martha and Hazel are lovely and sweet

My husband and I stayed at Molinari's last weekend and it was the best decision for our trip to Tobermory.
Tobermory is a cute town to begin with. We went to the Grotto, it was easy to get there and the landscape was beautiful!
Our room was very clean, comfortable and private. We even had out own bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and abundant. The staff were really welcoming and friendly.
I will definitely recommend this B&B and I wouldn't stay anywhere else when going back to Tobermory.

We recently booked a stay at Molinari's Bed and Breakfast. We planned on staying with our friends Tuesday-Friday. The week before, my mom got sick and by Saturday, we knew we would not be able to go. Our friends called Molinari's on the Saturday and cancelled, almost 3 days notice. Even though they still rented out the accomodations, we were still charged the $75/night cancellation fee. Even after sending an email regarding our situation, the fact my mom passed away, no allowance was made. I understand that small businesses as this rely on revenue for a short season, however, if I would have booked a hotel (which we originally were going to do), we would not have been charged anything. Just a caution when you are making plans with a small facility. CC

Our policy about cancellation is clear and is visible on our web site. Our policy is saying that we are reimbursing the deposit only if we get the notification 3 weeks (high season: July and August) or 2 weeks in advance. We should say with experience that people who are cancelling have always good reason. You know when people are going for vacation they are looking for it and actually they cannot wait to enjoy it. We are not discriminating or investigating the reason associated to the cancellation. We apply the policy regardless the reason. Regards, Maria Molinari
