Cedar Grove Cottages is a family resort that has been enjoyed by many for generations. It is nestled on the shore of the beautiful Cameron Lake, just south of Tobermory, Ontario. We offer 8 cottages of various sizes to accomodate your family. Cameron Lake is a spring fed, 350 acre inland lake and is 55 ft deep at its deepest point. It flows into Cypress Lake though a tributary that can be accessed by canoe or kayak. The water in Cameron Lake is clean, clear, and much warmer than Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. We offer onsite boat rentals, including Canoes, Kayaks, S.U.P., peddle boats, and motorized fishing boats. Our boat rentals are available to our guests and the public.

Beautiful place, beautiful host family. I absolutely love it here. Fantastic self contained cottages, very nice beach 🏖 , canoe 🛶 and kayak rentals. It has everything you need for a great vacation in one location. Awesome campfire 🔥 area too! Close to national parks and lots great hiking 🥾 trails nearby. Tucked away from the chaos of it all!! A hidden gem 💎. I highly recommend!!

Wonderful beach for the kids to play! Wonderful place to relax and unwind while the kids are always busy entertaining themselves (and us). So much fun on the lake! Ideal lake for your typical small boat that we rented and found it to be flawless. Not enough good things to say about the place! Will be back every year!

Our family (including our dog) spent the Victoria day long weekend at Cedar Grove cottage one. The cottage is well maintained, fully equipped and clean. There's plenty of room for the kids to roam. The kids had a fantastic time playing in the beach, playground, and with the kids from other cottagers. We couldn't ask for a better weather. The views are amazing. We had great family time with bbq on covered porch, hiking in the nearby trails, reading and watching the nightly campfire. Ben and Jane were friendly and helpful hosts. We truly enjoyed our family get together at this cottage and location. Highly recommended!

I've stayed a long weekend at Cedar Grove Cottages the last three years in a row, and I will continue to go at least once a year for the foreseeable future. The atmosphere is amazing, welcoming and friendly. The view is incredible, from sunrise to sunset. It's quiet, relaxing, and outside of the hustle and bustle - and yet it's just minutes from Tobermory, so you can have that too. It's affordable, clean, and the cottages can be chosen to suit. My first year I stayed in cottage 4, which is beyond gorgeous - and huge! The last two years I stayed in cottage 2, which in smaller, but still had everything we needed to be comfortable.

The property manager was great and the owners are so friendly and welcoming - you feel like part of the family!

I could live with views like those and be content for life. I highly recommend a stay at Cedar Grove, whether you're traveling as a couple on a romantic getaway, a family on vacation, or even a group of friends - this place is suitable for whatever you're looking for!

My husband and I and our three-year old daughter stayed here for a week at the end of July and we had a wonderful time. The resort is only 10 minutes outside of Tobermory and really close to all the sights like the Grotto, Singing Sands, and the ferry that goes to Flowerpot Island. It's on a very sheltered part of Cameron Lake, so the water was generally calm. The perimeter of the lake is also extremely shallow, which is great for little ones. The resort has a little sandy beach, as well as a playground with swings and a slide.
We stayed in cabin 3 and it was small, but cozy. Everything is simple, clean and comfortable. The view of the lake from the deck was our favourite thing about the cottage. The new propane BBQ was a bonus.
The property is well-maintained and the owners are very welcoming and hospitable. They even joined us around the nightly campfire.
The other guests were very sociable, so we made a lot of new friends. We hope to be back in the near future!

I got a chance to visit Tobermory this June (2016). There were a total of 3 families and a single me ;) This was my first time, though my other friends have been visiting this place (cedar grove) for past 3 consecutive years. We stayed here for 3 nights.
This is an amazing lake side cottage place with private access to the lake (lake Cameron). It's very safe, calm and quite.
We got the biggest cottage booked (cottage #10) as we were 7 adults and 3 children
It has got ample space with a big sitting area and a sun room.
There is also a play area in the garden for children.
Evenings were nice as they have bonfire in the late evenings (don't forget the marshmallows).
They also have kayaks that you can rent for the whole day (was nice fun kayaking through the lake to the other end of Bruce Peninsula park)
Got a chance to interact with the owner - Ben (an amazing down to earth and humble personality)
The stay was very cozy and looking forward to visit them again next year.
Highly recommended!

My wife, son, and I stayed here for 2 nights in June and my only regret is we didn't stay longer. We stayed in Cottage number 3 which faces directly onto the lake and was fantastic. Very well appointed, comfortable and clean.

The lake itself is clear, pretty shallow for about 30-40 metres and not particularly cold despite it still being early June. Perfect for families and young children. Boat, Canoe and Kayak rentals are all available on site and we rented a Canoe for the day.

The town of Tobermory is 5 minutes away by car and if your in this area you have to visit the 'Grotto' on the Bruce trail which is stunning.

The evening campfires at the resort are a wonderful way to meet the other guests, if you choose to, and remember to take your Marshmallows...!

Overall a great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

This review wouldn't be complete without special mention to Ben, the owner, who is very accommodating and went out of his way to make our stay possible. Also a big heartfelt thank you to Scot and Penny who manage the resort on site. Fantastic hosts and great company at the camp fire. Made us feel so welcome.

Hope we can get back to visit sometime soon.

We (7 people and 1 dog) rented cottage one and it was wonderful. The Cameron lake is clean and beautiful, and the area beside the cottage is very shallow, perfect for swimming and Kayak. The hosts are very very nice and lighted campfire for us every night. The location is also perfect, 12 minutes drive to Tobermory and 10 minutes drive to Bruce Peninsula National Park. Ideal for group travel. We will be back!

We stayed at Cedar Grove Cottages Family Resort over the past weekend, and couldn't have been more pleased with our visit. We stayed in Cottage 1, the largest of all the cottages, and had 6 guys in the cabin (the weekend getaway was for a bachelor party).

The resort was about a 4 minute drive to the main town where the ferry docks are, and close to all the major attractions including the national park (5 minutes away), Greig's Caves (30 minutes away), and the main town center (4-5 minutes away). The staff were so helpful and friendly, and ensured our stay was a great one.

I would definitely recommend the property to other travelers who are looking for a quiet lake-front cottage still close to all the amenities of Tobermory.

My husband and I loved our cottage. The resort is right on the water. We were there on the Victoria Day weekend for two nights. We booked and paid for a one room cottage (like an efficiency) but the owner, Ben surprised us by offering a two bedroom cottage just because it was vacant. We feel that the price is too much for a one room cottage we originally booked and glad we got a bigger one for the same price. We used one bedroom for dressing and keeping our bags! The bedrooms were very small, but we didn't mind because all we needed was a good night's sleep after a long day of hiking. The sitting area has a cute little fireplace, a couch and a recliner. The kitchen area has a small dining table with four chairs. Each cottage has it's own BBQ and a picnic table. Our only concern was the size of the shower stall. It is extremely small. We are small people and still found it hard to shower or dry ourselves as it is extremely small. But the bathroom is very clean. So is the rest of the cottage. Ben is very helpful owner/manager! We would go there again.
