This property is close to affiliated glass bottom boat rides, ferry dock to Manitoulin Island and short walking distance to main part of Tobermory. The amenities were surprisingly "good hotel like" but no microwave. Beds are comfy and showers pleasant. Soundproofing good. Good sized room too. Surprised to find a humidifyer in the room which made the room less dry. Large parking lot for free parking.
We stayed one night at the Bruce Anchor Motel and it was the perfect location for walking around Tobermory Town centre. Less than 10 minutes to the Tobermory Coffee Company & we walked across the street to take the glass bottom boat tour. Clean, comfy rooms with air conditioning, dehumidifier and ceiling fan. Large TV (not a smart TV) but was still great.
Impeccable place, Great staff, Fisrt place location Priced right Motel owner should be really proud to have an employee like Chrystel. She makes thing happen even in her most busy time! Great place to be on vacation
- After a 5 hour drive in 30 degree heat (and giving them advance notice of our check in time to ensure the room was ready) the room was not ready on time (45 minute wait). We were desperate to shower and change before our timed 4 hour hike but could not due to the room not being ready. - No conditioner available - No kleenex - No hairdryer - No microwave - Terrible water pressure - The world's smallest bar fridge - The world's slowest WIFI - Bathtub stopper was broken so couldn't use the tub properly - Toilet paper holder broken - Bed was very firm/hard and not that comfortable - No towel racks to put wet towels (like most hotels) and only given two bath towels for a 3 day stay so had to constantly request items which was a huge nuisance - The loudest air conditioning unit that i have ever encountered in my life so forget about trying to sleep. In addition it blows directly onto the bed so you are freezing cold - Lot's of road noise as it faces Hwy 6 - The big positive was very soft towels and a 5 minute walk to the Village which is handy as it is impossible to find parking in the village (and very expensive) Stayed at this place a couple times (last time they totally messed up and gave me the wrong room too) and it's really gone downhill. If you need a place to try to sleep this is fine but if you want more than that i would go elsewhere, there is a serious lack of attention to the little things that make or break a hotel stay IMO and i would not recommend it to anyone.…
We recently had a pleasant stay at the Bruce Anchor Motel in Tobermory. The motel is ideally situated - both Little Tub and Big Tub Harbour are very close or a short walk away. The Reception and Housekeeping staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. As far as we could see, the motel had a good adherence to the current COVID-19 restrictions – everything was sanitized for example, and only one person at a time was allowed into the motel’s office. Masks had to be worn in designated spaces. Overall, our room was very clean, quiet, and the beds very comfy. All the towels in the bathroom were literally paper-thin and, weirdly, refused to dry despite their thinness. Our room was comfortable but kind of dated and in need a facelift, although I believe the bathroom had seen a tub renovation at some point in the recent past. Initially, the only cause for concern I had was the room security. Rooms on the top floor, where our room was, had a dual entrance: the regular room door plus a sliding patio door which opened to a common balcony shared by the entire wing of the motel. I was surprised there was no security bar to put in the track of the sliding door, as anyone could enter the room from the shared balcony. The flimsy lock on the room’s front door was a further concern, and the room still used an old-fashioned key entrance. It had been a long time since I’d seen one of those! Bruce Anchor Motel, though, actually proved to be a very safe and comfortable place to stay while in the wonderful town of Tobermory, and I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a clean, centrally located base while there.…
I stayed here for a couple days. As a hiker was a bit disappointed that there was not any drinking water to fill my backpack bladder. However, they accommodated me with bottle water. They adhere very strictly to Covid procedures and the room was clean. There is a bar fridge and ceiling fan. We had a balcony but it was not private as there was no separation between the rooms..just one long balcony. We had a partial view of the waterfront. There is lots of parking available. It is right beside the car line up for the ferry so there can be road traffic and annoying drivers with their radios blasting.
Very clean Motel inside and outside, Staffs are very professional...Great location near the water and the town center. All rooms have external access to balcony. We stayed in a spacious room with two very comfortable queen size beds and it was reasonably large room with free Wi-Fi. We're from Greater Toronto area our first get away since the pandemic, My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Bruce Anchor Motel while vacationing in Bruce Peninsula and we're looking forward to another stay at your Motel next year. Thank you for your excellent service Bruce Anchor Motel and Staffs👍. Sydney W.
Great location near the water and the town center. All rooms have external access and a balcony. We stayed in a superior king room, and it was reasonably large with two chairs and settee. A problem with the heating unit was quickly resolved.
Very expensive for a two star motel that is outside the main area. Outlets and lights not working, old broken furniture. Bring your own towels, the towels here are paper thin and old, you will need soap. Asked for items and felt interrogated... no thanks. $612.00 for TWO NIGHTS!! Book elsewhere.
We stayed at waterfront Cottage on September 9-11 They provide WIFI, Heater, AC (up stairs and down stairs), TV channel, Coffee maker, Toaster, sofa bed,DVD player,Water heater, Pan&Pots Etc. Due to Covid-19 they didn’t provide Plates and cutlery. At first we arrived a bit early 2 pm,I know the room is not ready specially during this Covid is impossible nowadays but anyway my husband want to used the washroom and I want to change my 18 months diapers but unfortunately they don’t have washroom for guest at reception,Tonia the receptionist told us to comeback at 3 pm so we went to foodland supermarket to buy some grocery and we came back at 3 pm and the cottage still not ready and she told us to walked around the park but the weather outside cold, windy and a bit showers on and off that time and my 18 moths want to nap. So we went back to downtown to have a food we are really hungry since travelling about 3-4 hours on road, middle of food,Tonia the receptionist called us to come back she have a room for my son but we are in the middle of eating so we couldn’t make it right away.anyway 4:30 pm finally we got our cottage and after we get the keys I asked her about check out time is it still 10am?because is not fair if we checked in late and checked out early, good things Tonia said we could checked out late at 11:30am. Short of staff and Covid “Thing” is the reason for delayed. I know covid has changed a lot and it is challenging time for everyone around the world but still need to be professional and Organize to serve the customer specially we paid for $1021/two nights is very over priced and not worth it and I never experience like this in my life. Arrived at cottage just want to forget a bad experience in checked in things but things keep coming,HELp!!!OMG!!!🙈😡🤯 1. The Bedroom 1 no Curtain/Blind ( can you imagine sleep facing dark front yard?!maybe cannot sleep at all ) 2. No proper Lamp/Light in Upstairs Bedrooms, table lamp with the broken on/off switch and useless not bright enough in the room 3. The upstairs Bathroom the bath tub don’t have Drain stopper because my son cannot use showers he scared 4. There was a Rat running from a fire place to the kitchen cabinet,I was shocked 5. Kitchen drawer so dirty. 6. No access down to the lake they blocked with some woods and the stairs collapsed/broken 7. Carpet smells funny and old maybe never cleaned🤔 8. No Light in the Parking area and the Pathways Very Very dark cannot see a thing need a flashlight to get something from the Car. The Owner/Company of the cottage was definitely not take care of their Asset, they don’t care anything and everything in this cottage at all,the cottage need very SERIOUS make over/renovation.It is very outdated and old and not worth it with what we paid!!Never going back to this cottage ever. We booked this cottage to celebrate my husband birthday but end up unpleasant experience! I feel need to write the reviews about the cottage because I don’t want anyone experience same thing. Definitely not recommend to anyone ever!!!the rate very very overpriced not worth it with what we paid. They used the fully booked situations in Tobermory to over priced the cottage and the motel.Seriously,,,,with fully booked motel rooms in the Summer long they actually can renovated the damage in the cottage🤔😡 I really hope the fix and renovated this situations in the cottage …
