The hotel is about 1k from town (within walking distance if you want to walk). Relatively new hotel in the area and very clean. Staff is friendly, due to COViD, no daily house keeping! But you can pick up the extra towels, water and coffee from the front desk. They had Keurig coffee machine in the room so it was convenient to make your own coffee in the morning. The only disadvantage is that there is no view from the room but it is quiet and clean. We would stay here again when we come back to the areas.
I had to reschedule my visit because on the day of departure my son was sick. The 18 year old working the front desk was professional and polite. However she did not have the authority to move my reservervation to another of the 8 dates I suggested. I booked the last rooms for my dates and then I saw after I informed them that I couldn't make it, they reposted my room as available. I didn't ask for a refund, just move my date. She told me the manager would not speak to me or change my booking, and that they had offered my room for rent because they are allowed to do that. I'm out $698 and they are trying to get paid twice for the same room.
On the day we were to depart my son woke up sick. I had just booked the night before. I booked 10:00pm on Monday for Tuesday the 29 and Wednesday the 30th. I knew it was non refundable. On Tuesday morning(less than 12 hrs later) my son woke up with a sore throat, temperature, runny nose and cough. I called the vendor explained I couldn't come due to his illness. I DID NOT ASK FOR A REFUND. I asked that I switch my reservation to one of 8 other dates, most were weekdays. The manager said no, he offered me two nights in October, I countered with 2 nights in September. Then I was told I am not entitled to a refund and they won't switch the days after they had offered me October. They said it's corporate policy. I said you pick out of the 8 dates I gave you, whatever is better for your business. The young polite woman working the front desk was messaging the manager back and forth. I ASKED HER FOR THE MANAGERS FIRST NAME AND SHE WOULDN'T GIVE IT TO ME. The MANAGER COWARDLY hid behind the presumably university student who was stuck dealing with my complaint. I did not stay at the motel as they were unwilling to reschedule me.…
First off the only negative thing was the bed. Hard as a rock. Not comfy and I feel sort of broken. The location is perfect. Only a min from downtown and the place is very very clean. Please consider changing your mattresses though for a better sleep 🤪 your price is very good considering everything else in tobermory
Convenient location, clean rooms but nothing fancy. Good place to stay the night. The floors are tiled but clean. We visited during Stage 2 of Reopening so the hot tub was closed but there were tables to sit outside though we were asked to sanitize them ourselves. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room.
