This was our first time in Tobermory and happy we chose to stay at the Tobermory Princess Hotel! Rooms were comfortable and with a family it was super convenient to have a restaurant on the main floor! Anna, Tessie and Our waiter Panteli were excellent! We will definitely be going back but next time with friends and family! Thank you for a memorable family vacation! Peter and Barb Lorefice
This is Tobermory's only year-round hotel and vacation spot and we happy to try it out for a winter get-a-way. The Princess Hotel is one of the oldest buildings in town. The owners Jim & Bessie Kritikos were very hospitable and served us breakfast and dinner for our 2 night stay. We had the Georgian room on the 3rd floor which had a fabulous view over the harbor. The rate was very reasonable $119 night. The room was plain but adequate and we slept well. The location is great to get to many of the sites we wanted to visit. The Grotto is only 15-20 min down the road. In the summer there is a great veranda for dining. We'll be back!
Nick our waiter who is a dive master on the side as well was so super and attentive with us. As per all the restaurants in Tobermory and the stupid rules not put in place by our liberal government about the cerb most staff didnt show back for work, but the owners of this great spot persevered and ended up with a great staff. Their pasta was amazing and the bread and olive oil served which they import was delicious. Thank you princess hotel restaurant staff and we are glad we made a reservation and your patio has great views of the harbour.
We had a wonderful two days with Tessy and her staff. The hotel and restaurant are family run with a friendly and clean atmosphere. It is located in the middle of the action of Little Tub Harbour - close to ferries, watersports and the Bruce trail. We ate two breakfasts and two dinners in the dining room. Each meal was thoroughly enjoyed by every member of our party. The Greek salad was the best I’ve had. The pizza and whitefish were also excellent. This is not the best view, or the fanciest accommodations. But it is family run, family friendly and great value!
Stayed here 2 nights in September, a short get-away from the city. The room was very clean and comfortable (Georgian Room, on second floor) - unfortunately because it's a very old building, the walls and floors are also very thin... we could hear all kinds of loud thumping from upstairs, (not sure if a child running around or rearranging furniture), and even from our floor it was loud and the floor vibrated from someone running up and down the hall in the evening (guessing a child)... the constant thumping from upstairs continued into the night. The wide balcony is excellent to sit have a drink and relax. We also had dinner downstairs at the restaurant on the Thursday night - the food was pretty good, no complaints - staff were all wearing masks, and the tables were spread out for distancing (there is even a 2 person limit at the narrow reception). My only concern with the restaurant: I realized after we left that nobody asked for our name or number for Covid tracing like everyone else does (should be doing)... my wife and I were there Sept. 10, between 5:20 PM - 6:20 PM. The WiFi is included and the signal is quite strong throughout the hotel... you are also given a ziploc bag with a shampoo/conditioner/shower gel to use.…
