This is for sure one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in for a long time. I don't know whether it was because I was in the snowy mountains and was tired from a very long train journey across Sweden, but the beds were sink-in-to-cosy, everything was decorated in comforting soft greys, creams, and blues, and I felt at home....

This was our second year in the Diplomat. Booked as part of a half board package ski deal from the UK. We liked the look of this unique boutique style hotel from the start it certainly appealed more to us than the Holiday Club which has a lot more facilities but this hotel feels like a piece of History. The...

We stayd in this hotel for 3 nights in March. This is one of the nícests hotels I have ever stayed at - absolutely wonderful. The location is excellent for skiing and night-life, just in the very center of Åre. The hotel building is beutiful, rooms are great and the service very friendly. The lounge room was excellent for some...

As a first time visitor in Åre I chose Åregården - one, if not the oldest hotels in Åre located just in the city center close the the ski lifts. The staff is very good and helped us with all from booking taxis to nice restaurants. Åregården is runned by the same owners as Diplomat Hotel in Stockholm - a...

We went to Are with 3 children aged 6-12yrs on 26th Dec 2010 for a week and stayed at the Aregardarma apartments behind the Diplomat hotel. It was cold: take one or two base layers for everyone: minus 10-25 is common. It's colder when windy, and it is often windy at this time of year. There is 4-5 hrs of...

We had our wedding at Åregården and spent a wonderful extended weekend in this cozy mountain gettaway. The staff were fantastic and the hotel as such holds a very nice atmosphere, both in terms of deco and the relaxed traditional mountain lodge feeling that is coposed for all senses, very nice indeed. The location right in the center of Åre...

The hotel was the first hotel to be built in Are, it is quaint with a lot of decorative woodwork. The rooms were quite well appointed altought depending where you are put in the Hotel room sizes could vary quite a bit. Staff were polite and helpful, and spoke very good English. Breakfast was of the buffet type with plenty...

This was a lovely hotel with excellent facilities, great location (for the skliing and nightlife/daylife) slap bang under the main ski lifts and right in the middle of town. Friendly and helpful staff, who spoke embarassingly good English. The draw back for most would be that the arrangements for evening meals was very early evening (18:00-18:30) which didn't suit us...

“Rooms on the third floor (one flight of stairs above the entrance) are small, but looks the most like the pictures on the web. Rooms on the second floor, the same floor as the entrace, have a fair standard. Be aware that the rooms often have a connecting door.”
