Hotel is run by the same staff as DownTown hostel (opposite). A double room was 80000 kip which is ok if you're sharing as makes it same price as a hostel bed but not good value if you're travelling solo. Rooms were dated and felt grubby. Air con made the room smell like urine. Curtains were very thin.

The rooms are basic but have a/c and a fridge . They are fairly clean and quiet and cheap. The owner is Vietnamese and speaks reasonable English and trys to be very helpful . The hotel is on the main street and near the supermarket and restaurants . Try the duck noodle soup at a small pace across the road about 70 metres down the road . The market is five minutes walk away .
We Had one of the best massages ever at the Dok Champa massage two blocks away behind the hotel 35000kip for one hour . Highly recommended . It is across the sreet from the Pakse Hotel.

We are not pleased with this hotel. We did not pay much (15 dollar), but still we did not expect such a cramped and filthy room. Especially the bathroom was full of staines (see photos). The bed is really old, worn down and crooked (I cannot sleep leveled in this bed), our bedsheet is a plus sized towel and every now and then it smels like sewer. As for the service, apparently there is only guy working at the frontdesk, he is always there and apparantly also sleeps there. If he is away, you cannot leave your key, Pay the bill or anything else you might need him for. Furthermore the already filthy, smelly room does not get cleaned if you stay more nights.

Again, please check te photos I made in the bathroom, they are nasty.

We had rented two old bikes (80K) in the evening until the next afternoon. We noticed that one bike had a flat tire and were ultimately unable to use it. The next day we came back to see them and the mother apologized, we were able to get another bike. and told us she would give us 40k back. At the end of the day when it was time to return the bikes, the girl refused and completely denied the facts.
We were disappointed to meet this family who are dishonest and make promises they don't keep.

We do not recommend this place.

We had two rooms for one night at this 'Hotel' and room 107 was definitely the worst I have ever stayed in.
You know it's a bad start when the front door to your room doesn't fully open.... Then the bathroom door falls off in your hand, there's strange looking smudges all over the walls and the floor doesn't look like its ever been washed. And the whole tiny room is dark and dingy. There was no way I was showering in there and I slept in a sleeping bag liner for the first time in our month long trip of Laos and Cambodia.
To be fair I will say my teenage children had a twin room on the second floor and it was bigger and less revolting.. Though a tray of dead ants in the bathroom wasn't what you would expect, even from budget accomodation.
If you have a choice stay somewhere else !!!!

The Royal Pakse is pretty basic, but cheap, so get what you expect. Our room was small, very dark (the window faced the wall of the next building) but quiet. When it rained, a puddle formed on the floor underneath the window and began to spread through the room (hardly what you expect from even the cheapest of hotels!).

Ok to stay for a night, but don't expect quality.

Comparing to many places we checked out, this was one of the cleanest and best price value in Pakse. Receptionist was very friendly & helpful. The room was nothing special but more then ok for one night, spacious but very basic.

We checked into this hotel only because it was late at night and our first choices were all fully booked. The following day a money belt containing two passports, three bank cards and around $300 dollars was stolen from its position out of sight in our locked room. The only people who could possibly have had access were the maids. (Or hotel staff.). The manager got our passports back but wouldn't say how, and the maids were still working there the day we left. Please don't stay here!

Not fantastic but not horrible.
The location is good.
The room was not very big but was doing the job
Bathroom was ok with hot shower and towels

You have to ask for clean towels and toilet paper if you did them, there is no cleaning service

The place is quiet except when the child (maybe 4 or 5 years old) of the owner is crying and yelling in the stairs for hours with no one taking care of him!!

There was a tv in the room, but wasn't working but wifi was ok

For the price, the hotel is ok but don't except any luxury or royal stuff in your room!
