Lovely old colonial building, however they have added some extra glass doors to the balcony for noise insulation which meant I had 2 uninterrupted nights sleep due to the quietness of the place. Not that it's in a noisy part of town anyway. The room (43) was clean and spacious and the bed comfortable. The room had a kettle, safe, fridge, a/c and a ceiling fan. My only complaint was that the shower was only luke warm. The internet has several different WiFi signals which seem to vary in strength during my stay but I usually found one which worked and was able to make phone calls home. Food is a bit limited and for Laos is expensive, however opposite is the Parisuen cafe which had a more extensive menu and is cheaper. The staff were friendly and helpful and nearby there are a few small food shops and o couple of ATMs. All in all I would stay here again

Located in the center of Pakse, this hotel has an undeniable colonial charm. The elevator is very old and quaint. The traditional local style rooms are welcoming with a small balcony and city view. The staff is very friendly. The hotel communicates on the ground floor with a very practical café-restaurant.

The accommodation is in a quiet location, the rooms are clean and have a small balcony. The staff is simply great. It doesn't matter whether you need a transfer or want to store your luggage for a longer period of time. Everything runs smoothly here. ThaiLife-Travel felt very comfortable here and would like to say thank you for the wonderful time we had with you.

Beautiful colonial hotel and very well located in Pakse. Very large rooms and an establishment with a lot of charm. Unfortunately, as is often the case in Laos, it is quite poorly maintained and maintenance is not done correctly: problem of unavailable hot water, stained sheets, poorly finished and poorly equipped bathroom, work done economically. The staff speaks almost no English and acts as a stand-in while waiting for the presence or intervention of a manager if customers insist. An establishment that deserves better.

Old hotel in a central location. Large room, terrible shower, malfunctioning a/c
After checking in you need to take the elevator. The elevator has grilled doors on both sides, and only one person with their luggage can fit at a time. I did not know how to operate this elevator, or wanted to use such an old elevator, so reluctantly chose to use the stairs.
Room is large and dated. Hard uncomfortable mattress. Shower is tiny and badly designed. The shower head was placed too high so that when you turn on the water the shower head spreads water all over the bathroom and not on the person taking the shower. I had to use my towels to dry the puddles of water on the floor.
The worse part was the air conditioning. The air conditioning was working but not cooling the room. I woke up in the middle of the night sweating and could not go back to sleep.
Breakfast staff does not speak English. They served me an egg, baguette, jam, water, cut up banana and papaya, juice, and coffee, no espresso drinks.
I don’t know if there are better options in Pakse, but I would not want to stay here again.

This is a four storey colonial building with an antique lift that can only fit one person & a suitcase at a time for the very slow ride to the required floor. But it’s part of the old world appeal of this hotel.
The rooms are massive in size with a big four poster double bed, a lounge, TV with a good selection of channels, airconditioning, wifi & a balcony overlooking the river & the town. The bathroom is also a good size with a walk in shower.
Breakfast is included served on the fifth floor with great views. Breakfast is not a buffet but individually served & includes hot & cold western dishes.
The town of Pakse is nothing to get excited about. It was my first night before going on a Mekong River cruise. It’s certainly a comfortable place to stay.

Very pleasant hotel, nicely decorated, warm and welcoming. Spacious and clean rooms, very good bedding. Hearty, varied, delicious “French-style” breakfast! Pleasant, attentive, smiling staff. Ms. Sisouk, the French-speaking owner, was very available and provided us with many services and gave us valuable and precise information.

The Residence is a lovely hotel. It's owner, a charming and lovely lady who speaks fluent English, who also cooks the most delicious Laotian food is on hand together with her lovely staff to give guests va most enjoyable experience. Our room was large, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom well equipped. The hotel laundry was excellent. Pakse is interesting. Do not expect 5* luxury but the warmth of the service and the kindness of the Laotian people is double that. If we ever return to Pakse, we would stay again.

You feel like going back to the past in this charming place. A warm welcome by Mrs Sisouk who owns the place. We wanted to have dinner, but did not know we had to book it, as the place is more a guesthouse than a traditional hotel. However Mrs Sisouk accepted to have a meal prepared for us and even offered us a glass of aperitive, which we greatly appreciated!

Pakse is a bit of a one horse town and there is very little there for tourists. I expect the hotel was amazing in its heyday but it has not been maintained and is expensive for a run down hotel in need of renovation. Soft furnishings were ripped and the room and bathroom were poor. it could have been so nice.
