Just like the rest of the Neapolitans the staff and owners of the II Sentiero were friendly and helpful. Best view of the Bay of Naples you could wish for. Great value. The evening meals were superb and comparatively cheap. Wine good. Service first class. Bear in mind though: There is nothing in walking distance if you want to go...

This hotel was ideally located at the base of Mt. Vesuvius and was perfect for our first nights stay. The hotel staff were all very friendly and couldn't be any more welcoming. They looked after our little son very well too. Although we had to wait for his cot a couple of hours after we'd checked in, which wasn't ideal...

It's hard to find. GPS mislead us. Look for the signs nearing Via Vesuvius. The road is not in the best shape up to the hotel. I would not recommend venturing out at night -- in the dark. Therefore dinner should be taken at their restaurant. The menu is limited, but OK. It took a long time for us to...

we were welcomed for an extra day even though there were two events happening. The events looked stunning- food, decor, music. The staff were gracious, welcoming, friendly, helpful and kind. We were very well looked after. The rooms are comfortable and our view was of all of Napoli- spectacular. You need a car to get here- the driveway is off...

This hotel is excellent for the amount you pay, the view couldn't be better, the rooms clean (even if a little on the small size) and quiet (unless they have an event on). The food is home made and fresh (no menu), if a bit expensive when compared to Garum (excellent local food) in Pompeii or Viva lo Re (also...

We stayed at Il Sentiero for three nights. It was a memorable stay, but I probably wouldn't go back. Its only accessible by car/taxi. The road to the hotel is memorable in itself. Don't be alarmed by the poor road; you are going the correct way. No big deal. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, especially the restaurant...

excellent clean modern hotel. Great service especially Fathi and Chiro. Views out of this world. Last part of the road is rough but don't be deterred. Great parking and A/C. Close to ruins at Herculaneum and super convenient for Vesuvius. We discovered the underground parking for Herculaneum by accident. It's worth finding. Driving in this area is not for the...

Stayed at this hotel for one evening. Meal and views of Naples at sunset were amazing. This hotel will not be reached by public transportation because it is halfway up Vesuvius . Pack light because you have to carry your bags to your room up the stairs. The meal was a little pricey but very good and the views were...

Il Sentiero is a hidden gem!!! This is a small family owned hotel. We travelled during the off season and we had the whole hotel to ourselves. The whole hotel stuff was super friendly. Fathi was our receptionist/waiter/translator he speaks 5 languages and he tries to help at any opportunity! This hotel is on the slopes of Mt. Vesuvius and...

Our family of four (two eight year olds) stayed here for four nights in late October. The hotel is small, modern and very clean and well run, and sits on the outskirts of Ercolano, literally on the slopes of Vesuvius, with panoramic views of the bay of Naples. There is a walking trail behind the hotel which leads up into...
