It was a nice relaxing weekend. We stayed in the Ecorce cabin and it was enough for two adult and a husky. The cabin is equipped with all that we need to stay comfortably, kitchen utensils, campfire wood and we are able to collect more small sticks to start the fire just from the woods around us. We all enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure.
We had a really nice day trip at Chalets Lanaudière: we did snowshoeing, skiing, sliding and skating during one day. They have beautiful nature with many activities. All the equipment was included in the package price and the selection was great and of good condition. The staff was very kind and professional.
This was our second stay here as a family of 4. Last year we rented a chalet (St. Hubert) for 4 days. This year we rented a cabin (Cime) for 6 days. They don't have a site map on their website so we didn't know exactly where the cabin was situated on their site beforehand. We weren't thrilled about walking so far (5 minute walk) up a gravelly road and rather steep hill with their trolley system (cars are not allowed on the road to the cabins/yurts, the chalets have doorfront parking so this isn't an issue) to lug all of our food/belongings (for a family of 4 for 6 days) to our cabin ESPECIALLY because the maintenance vehicles are allowed to drive on that same road. This is something to consider especially if you have health or mobility issues. The cabins don't have bathrooms (as opposed to the chalets which do) so despite this being our second time on the site it was our first time showering in the sanitary block - the showers were thankfully clean BUT there is no way to adjust the water temperature (really very very hot) which was disappointing. The cabins don't have running water, you're provided with water coolers and 5 gallon jugs (which were replenished during our stay, the maintenance people showed up unannounced and carried them right in, which was quite awkward) so dish washing is far from pleasant after the novelty of the first time or two wears off. The BBQ area is outside, around the cabin down 2 flights of stairs - it would be so much more convenient if there was a pulley system installed from the cabin's kitchen balcony which overlooks it, down to the BBQ area below to send down food, bring up dishes etc. It would also be really nice to have instructions for the toaster oven, we never quite figured it out during our stay! Upon checking in we were happy to hear that there was a new 'sanitary block' (bathroom only) just one minute away from our cabin (as opposed to 5) However, there was an issue with the door - we thought it was locked one night (apparently it wasn't) and we then had the only other option being the 5 minute walk away. The new 'bathroom only' structure does not have a sink with running water for hand washing. It would be a good idea for future improvements to include a sink as well as perhaps a dishwashing station (outdoors even for use only during the summer months if freezing pipes are a concern) for the cabins/yurts to use. Due in part to a rainy day, we were running out of clean clothes so we used the washer & dryer available for use in the main sanitary block and while we were grateful for it, the water pressure was nearly non-existent (I timed it at 28 minutes to fill up for the rinse cycle) so plan to spend several hours sitting around if you need to wash/dry a load of laundry. Be aware that you need to bring your own garbage and recycling to bins located well away from any of the buildings (same for chalets) which is fine, but we were disappointed to see compost bins at the garbage site despite the fact that there were no dedicated bins to use for compost collection AT the cabin - the intention is good but in practice, the way they have things set up is impractical. The site is very quiet, and we got good advice on the walking trails from the front desk staff. I would recommend this site for a short stay; we found the downsides tedious after a few days.…
We booked this cabin in September of 2018 for a New Years getaway. We stayed from December 30th-January 1st. We arrived at 2:30pm (check-in is at 4) and we were informed right away that our cabin was ready and we could check in. The receptionist was very helpful in explaining our accommodations to us and she also provided us with our spa certificate (we booked the "Relaxation Package"). Once we left the reception, we were directed to a shed where there are sleds and trolleys to assist you in carrying your belongings to your cabin. *Note: we had brought our own sled as we did not know this or see this on the website anywhere We then proceeded to a second shed where we picked up our firewood (we had been informed at check-in that there was already firewood at the cabin, however we wanted extra). After this, we were told it was about a 5 minute walk to the cabin - we would say it's even less! Once we arrived, everything was perfect. There were fairy lights hung outside the cabin and a wreath on the door, and a lot of firewood sitting on the porch. The cabin was immaculate inside, with everything we could possibly need. The next morning we left for La Source Bains Nordique (15 min drive), which was also absolutely beautiful. Thanks to Chalets Lanaudiere, our reservation had already been made and we simply needed to provide our certificate that we had received at check in. We spent the entire day at the spa, including lunch in the bistro which was fabulous. After returning to our cabin around 5pm, we prepared dinner and spent New Years Eve relaxing. The next day, check out was at 1pm therefore we spent the morning outside exploring. Upon check out, we were informed that we were still able to access all of the amenities that they had to offer for the entire day (skating, snowshoeing, tubing) if we wanted to. All around an absolutely wonderful trip. We would highly recommend both the Racines cabin as well as the facility as a whole.…
Booked Oct. 24-25 in a chalet. The air is so pure, slept like a baby. Beautiful environment in the woods, peace and tranquility. Chalet was spotless with all necessary amenities. No internet in chalet, no TV but DVD to watch movies. Bring a book or go off walking on a trail. Thoroughly enjoyed my get away. And Oh! By the way, my Lab was a happy camper!
