I stayed here one night while staying overnight on the way out of Kamchatka. The hotel is simple, is in a quite neighborhood, and the price was quite reasonable. The room was simple, fine for the price. The hotel was clean. The bed was on the small side. There are renovations underway, which required me to go a long route to get my bags to my room. Inconvenient but a temporary problem no doubt. The receptionist struggled with English. The WiFi worked fine for me, but my friend had trouble with the signal from his room. The breakfast was ok. It took some effort to get a cup of coffee, which I thought was strange. I think that the choices in Petro are limited. In that light, and given the price, I would stay here again.
My husband and me had diner at the Art Hotel in the center of Yelizovo - around 350m away from the bus station. The main reason we went there is because we wanted to try the famous Kamchatka-fish. We had 3 courses, and a bottle of excellent Georgian wine. In total we paid EUR40 per person, which is a reasonable price. We ate, among others, salmon and king crab. The hotel itself doesn't have a great atmosphere, with not very tasteful music and we were the only guests in the restaurant. That been said, the menu had pictures of the dishes; I don't remember whether the menu was also bilingual. Anyhow, it was easy to realise what you wanted to order, thanks to the pictures. Plus, the waitress was very friendly and the service was good. The food was not pretentious, but just very tasty. Best food we had in Kamchatka!…
Transferring service to airport is unacceptable. I gave them my departure time, flight number and airline company via their own website. The website has English edition and seems reliable but I think the hotel don't really care about it. The staff don't care about that useful flight data they got from me via that website even I gave it to them before I come to hotel. Finally, they just call a taxi to transferring me to airport AFTER I checked-out and had some miscommunication problem with receptionists who can speak only Russian. I wasted a lot of time to clear that problem and also wasted another lot of time for waiting that taxi. THEREFORE, I MISS MY FLIGHT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. Suggestion to the hotel - You have very good website. So, you should use data you get via it for better and reliable services. I gave you even my departure time, flight number and airline company but it didn't help me to catch my flight. I'm an easygoing man and your staff have service minds - they were very good with me there and tried to communicate with me in English even they can't speak English. However, your transferring service is UNACCEPTABLE. For visa registration - I paid them 500 rubles and has nothing in return because I stay here for 1 night and chek-out very early (before the post office open). So, on check-in day, I ask them if they can cut this kind of payment off for me. They said no. Good sides - Staff have service minds and tried to communicate in English even they can't speak English. Free delicious breakfast. That taxi which transferred me to airport is really free of charge.…
It's close to the airport and centrally located in Yelizovo, clean, quiet, and the food in the restaurant is good. We've stayed here throughout the years and never had a complaint. We put our clients and employees here every year.
I've stayed here in 2014 and in August 2016. The standard room was just fine, and at about 4500Ru (US$70), a good deal. The location is downtown Yelizovo with a bank 2 blocks away, the Visitor's Center and bus station about 3 blocks down the street and a decent restaurant across the street. The desk clerk was not fluent in English but enough for check-in and some incidentals. The WiFi is limited, free from the bar from around 8pm to midnight, else pay US$5 or so per hour from the lobby or your room any time of the day. WiFi in Kamchatka is not ubiquitous like in the US and the bandwidth is limited but improvements are in the works. I booked my rooms online, struggled with a bit of Russian vs English but with Google Translate things worked out fine. 500Ru for registration (and they photocopy your passport and visa so you get to keep the passport) - that's about US$8 so given the price of the room with breakfast and location of the hotel, in all a very reasonable stay. Check out "Coffee Time" cafe in the Visitor Center building for decent (not great) coffee and snacks. For a English menu with varied offerings, go to Old Castle - 5km or so outside of Yelizovo (negotiate a taxi). Tip: If they serve eggs for breakfast you may want to get them cooked better, the eggs are not flipped so quite runny in my opinion.…
