We arrived to Casa Aspron by mistake thinking that it was located close to Cangas de Onis. Fortunately, our mistake gave us the opportunity to enjoy the excellent personal service and advise of Jorge and to visit the Virgin of Covadonga Sanctuary firsthand. We highly recommend consider this apparently simple but great place to stay if visiting the Sanctuary or just as night stay. However, you may have to take into consideration that the rooms do not have air conditioning that could be an issue during hot summer nights.

Family run inn with a great location just below the Covadonga basilica. Easy walk up to the entire complex. We stayed for 2 nights in a simple attic room with windows opening up to the view and a rushing river below. Very quiet location. The only downside is that the bed was what in the US we call a double size. Breakfast was simple but nice with some freshly made items.

I was there 9 years ago and it has only gotten better. It is located a few meters from the Covadonga Sanctuary. An Asturian paradise. From there you can organize great walks of all kinds. It is well located in that sense. Casa Aspron was a heavenly experience. Wonderful. It is a charming, quiet country house and Pino and Jorge, your hosts, are angels. The whole area is wonderful. You have to go.

We came here on the strength of other reviews we read on TripAdvisor, after scouting around for a place to stay in Covadonga. We drove up here from Oviedo for a 3 night stay, hoping to do some walks in the mountains but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with us! Nevertheless, it was an interesting stay and although our room was quite small, it was really all that we needed and we had a view looking up at the Basilica which was a treat. The Casa Aspron also has ample parking spaces just outside so it was very convenient, and it is only a 5-min drive away from the Basilica and the cave which is a popular pilgrimage site. Breakfasts was a generous spread which lasted us well, the Wi-fi was good and reliable and we were given a key to access the house after hours in the evening. It was a very quiet stay, and the owners were lovely people who always tried to help with advice and suggestions on what to do in the local area.
The bed was a bit too soft but otherwise everything was good, the rooms were clean and for dinner, we could just drive to the nearby hotel about 5-6 mins down the road, or to Cangas de Onis where there were plenty of places to eat. There is also a path running up to a small waterfall behind the Casa Aspron so for rooms facing this side, there is always the tranquil sound of water running in a stream! Very pleasant stay and we will be back if we return to Covadonga. Thank you for the hospitality.

Casa Aspron, our perfect cozy mountain home for three days during a northern coast of Spain trip. Clean, friendly, comfortable beds and very important, great help with local directions. The Lagos of Covadonga are a 1/2 hour drive away and a bucket list for sure. We did not want to leave!

I really enjoyed my stay at Casa Aspron and its beautiful surroundings. I chose it because it's located in the national park 'Picos de Europa', about a 25-minute drive away from the Covadonga Lakes. I also drove to breathtaking hiking paths, like the one that leads to the town of Bulnes. Excellent beaches, like San Antolin and Torimbia, for example, are only a 40-50 minute drive away.

The staff at Casa Aspron were incredibly kind and helped me with all my questions. They gave me maps and wrote indications on them. I'm very thankful to them.

The house itself is tastefully decorated. My room was relatively spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom felt new and the shower was great. Everything was spotless. I could see from my window the Covadonga Sanctuary (a place worth visiting once you're there, by the way).

Breakfast included fried eggs, some ham and cheese, yogurt, bread, jam and coffee — a perfect way to start the day and begin exploring gorgeous Asturias!

Everything is good at Casa Aspron, especially the hospitality of the owners - Isabel and Jorge. They helped us with planning the trip, and even helped us with the laundry.
The room is very nice, with the view of the famous church from the window.
The breakfast is plentiful, and the wifi is fantastic.
Highly recommended :)

We felt as at home: comfortable, friendly, delicious homemade food, beautiful surroundings. Pino and Jorge, the owners, know the mountains by heart and provided invaluable information for the choice of the treks and places to visit. 100% recommended.

Stayed during a recent cycling trip. Postive experience with one minor exception:

1. Beautiful rustic exterior - this fits perfectly with the area and gives the visitor the right feeling from the first glance;
2. Caring and responsive owners - small family operated hotel where the owner ensures your needs are heard and attended to.
a. We had a 6am cycling start, our bikes were brought out to the reception and a box breakfast with fruit was waiting for us;
b, Information about the area (sights, restaurants, buses) was quick and reliable.
3. Good quality rooms - while the hotel has a rustic air, the beds and the bedding is modern and all fixtures and fittings are up to date;
4. Tasty breakfast with good choices;
5. Excellent location - 10 minute walk to the Basilica and sanctuary.

One tiny suggestion: the weather is very wet and a heated towel rail would have been appreciated. While it's clear that heating would be turned off with 26 degree temoeratures, it would have been good to have had an electric rail to dry our cycling clothes once washed.

Rooms are modest but clean, and during the day you can notice how close the road is (as well as the sanctuary’s bells). But the service is amazing with caring and lovely people here to help with any question you may have - and great tourists guide too. Breakfast is rich in quantity and quality too.
