Wanting to escape from the usual cold and damp of the typical UK February we decided to spend the whole of it in S A ! Having had a short break at Salt Rock a year ago we went for the long haul and were not disappointed. Our room, like all the rooms, overlooked the sea and was superbly appointed...

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the hotel for 3 nights with family who were visiting from the UK. It's only 35 minutes from Durban, so can be an ideal location for short break. Our room was a good size with fridge, microwave and breakfast bar as well as a balcony with a perfect sea view. Air-conditioning and...

I stayed for three nights for a business training course in one of the conference rooms. I was in room number 1 which is one of the older rooms in the older part of the hotel (possibly the original building). The room had two rooms, a main room with a king size bed and a second room with two single...

The hotel is not too prepossessing from the beach side point of view, but once inside all this is forgotten. The main hospitality interior is really nicely furnished and decorated with a lovely garden and a stunning sea frontage and view, the suites are especially spacious and the staff are absolutely delightful even if they get somewhat panic stricken in...

This has to be one of the best hidden gems on the north coast. We have stayed here so many times and have never been disappointed. Old school hospitality, wonderful familiar family holiday. What a special spot. The retention of staff over all these years means something special. And this is a truly special spot.

A perfect place for a beach and relax vacation. The staff is wonderful, even though they seem to struggle somewhat against strange logistics. The food left little to want for, to very reasonable prices. The view is magnificent. The long beach and the tidal pools offer something for everyone. The water at perfect temperature and the sound if the waves...

We spent 5 nites at Salt Rock Hotel. Here are 5 comments: 1. The Rooms- you get what you pay for, clean and with a great view. 2. The Food - great Currys! And the rest is above par as well. 3. The Beaches - Just great! Even our teens were sold! 4. The Smokers - This is a LET-DOWN!...

A lovely venue for families and couples. Gorgeous views. Mostly very helpful and accommodating staff. The bar staff need to get with the program. They always seem to have something better to do. The buffet could do with a bit more imagination. After 7 days of the same food it all gets a bit much.

Second stay and all I can say is that this hotel is outstanding when it comes to service. Had a conference for 20 people and they really were excellent hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. This hotel is really value for money and situated on the beach. Rooms are huge and have a bar and lounge area. They also offer...
