This is perfect place to stopover on the North Coast, just an hour out of Durban and close to King Shaka International airport. Situated on a quiet road in a residential suburb we had a pleasant and restful night’s sleep at Saffron House, The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, with aircon and a separate entrance, it ticked all our...

I stayed two nights at this establishment and I can truly recommend it to anyone. It has the necessary comforts required and is magnificently clean. The host Ian is extremely friendly and really does his best to make you feel at home. As I was on business my breakfast was made an hour earlier than the normal time and the...

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was just what we needed. Nice room and bathroom, aircon, comfortable bed and a fridge. Swimming pool perfect temperature and house in a nice and quiet area. Cooked breakfast was really good (we tried 4 different options and all great). Yes it isn't really within walking distance of restaurants or beach but...

Whilst doing a road trip across South Africa we needed somewhere to stay in Salt Rock and this place seemed to tick all the boxes. We turned up and it was exactly what we needed - the room itself was good, although nothing special but the host and his cooking for that evening were very good.

Good: The Guest House is located in a quiet residential area surrounded by nature. Beautiful garden. Breakfast was good. Not so good: The room was old furnished and smelly. The wifi connection was quite poor.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at our family owned guesthouse. We are pleased that you liked our location and enjoyed our breakfast, We have checked all our rooms and couldn't find any old furniture or detect a smell so maybe something else caused the odour during your stay. We have also checked our wifi connection...

Ian and his wife are going to do their utmost to satisfy their clients. During our stay we enjoyed the hospitality very much. Good breakfast and also a nice braii in the eve convinced us. Rooms are spacey had an AC also a small pool is also usable. The Beach is not far and Isn always supported us

this bed and breakfast is simply lovely, the rooms are very confortable, good bathrooms, the pool and the trees around are wonderfully refreshing after a long day in Durban or on a hot beach, the owners are very friendly and give very good recommendations. Their French toast for breakfast was delicious.

Great stop over place with good facilities. Quaint ambience, nestled neatly in the bush and not too far from the main highway and extremely close to the beach. Ian went beyond the standard which improved the quality of our stay. Definitely recommended for passing through couples.

We had a lovely stay at the Saffron House last week. We pretty much had to run in and out between meetings, but the evening's sleep was very peaceful in the rooms and the hosts really have gone through a lot of trouble to make us feel at home. Will recommend to anyone!!
