the air conditioning did not work; the wifi did not work; the shower was getting clogged up. had to sleep with window wide open but even that did not help. (It is a little unsettling if you are traveling alone and concerned about safety). For breakfast, limited items - two types of tea (neither of which were to my taste), there was NO COFFEE and only cookies and croissants from a discount store plus UHT milk. Fortunately, there is a delicious bakery nearby. The B+B is difficult to reach since it is in old part of town. Could be a cute place but whoever answers the phone doesn't seem very competent and arrogant as well. Not recommended at all. Stayed in much better B+B (and cheaper) in other parts of Italy.
This little B&B is a pure gem. We visited this place with our small daughter. Is a quiet place with modern amenities and typical warm Italian hospitality. We enjoyed our stay there we definitely coming back. Even in August the area is quite fresh and not so hot, the rooms are super clean, quiet and the easy access to the pool and the kitchen is so convenient. The owner is preparing a fantastic breakfast keeping open the buffet for the rest of the day for coffee and sweets. In a short distance someone can find nice restaurants and the sea. One of the best and relaxed vacations that we ever had.
Sanitary installations working well, very small room, breakfast poor, friendlyness poor, very quiet, price too high. You get the feeling that the money earning function of the b&(b) is more important than offering a good service.
We stayed at La Gatta Sul Tetto for one night only, on our way from Pizzo to Lecce. The room was pretty and quiet, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom modern. We had a cozy view out of our window of the courtyard below. Parking was free. We are cat lovers (we have two cats: Tristan and Isolde) and enjoyed the cat-theme of the art. Unfortunately, our Italian is pretty limited so we couldn't talk very well with the manager, Santo, but we understood that his wife was out of town and that he wasn't used to being the host. He was very nice, though, and introduced us to their dog, Bart (for San Bartolomeo, the patron saint of the town), and their cat, Laurence. Because we only stayed one night, we didn't have much time to explore, but it is a pretty town, and refreshingly not full of tourists, even in July. Apparently August is the time that most people visit. We ate dinner at "L'Arco Antiche" near the duomo, which had great pizza, and a wonderful array of local antipasta dishes. Downsides: the hotel is in the winding streets of the old town, and we had quite a hard time finding it, even with GPS. Because Santo wasn't used to hosting, he forgot to give us the remote for the air conditioner, so we spent a hot night, but figured out the problem the next morning. We would stay here again.…
