Detailed Reviews
we spent a winter holiday week at Hotel Zaluna. It is a perfect starting point for about 7 different ski areas. Some are well connected by a non-payable skibus, others are easily reachable within 15 - 30 minutes distance by car. The hotel offers not only a really good price / quality niveau, but also distnguishes itself by its familiarity and good local cuisine. The rooms and all parts are very clean and all staff mermbers are really friendly and always helpful. we loved the spaceous and nicely renovated and furnished guest rooms. We will come back, for sure.

Just as the name says - small and lovely. Wonderful family run place with comfortable and clean rooms. Central for skiing and sight seeing without being in the middle of town. Lovely breakfast included in our stay. Will visit again (maybe just take my own hairdryer next time :)

The place is wonderful, even if it is very close to the street, as another review says. Maybe this can be the only default if you want to stay just between the mountains, but I think that the street is not so busy (and completely empty during the night), that the views are wonderful and that you can take your car very quickly to reach many fantastic places, Panaveggio for example. I have heard falling water and bells of cows, but no cars and just some noisy motorcycles! Finally, you feel yourself in a "family", everything is very clean and the food is very good at a reasonable price. So, try it...... in summer or in winter, of course!

This small Hotel is fantastically located, absolutely quite, and from it each day you can reach a different skiarea. Exellent italian food and a super wine card at prices around 15-20€. Best is half pension (breakfast-buffet and dinner) at prices (we paid 118€ for two/day) which hardly you can get the service we got. Small sauna and wirlpool, mostly alone. All very clean. The hosts (a family) give you the impression (and probably it is so) that you are there exellent friends.

We are repeat winter guests at this friendly family-run hotel. We always enjoy our time there and Gianni and his family are great hosts. On every visit there has been a mid-week special dinner at a mountain hut which is a meat-lovers delight.
The accommodation is modern and comfortable and provides everything you need after a hard day on the slopes. It is also convienently located for the local ski fields with the free ski bus stopping right at the door. We love this cosy little hotel and will be back.

It's difficult to write a review for this hotel. Everything was OK except for one aspect. I had communicated before going that wifi connection was essential for me for work reasons, but when we arrived in the room it was clear that the wifi was basically non existent - we could only manage to get a shaky signal in the night by sitting on the stairs of the communal corridor...
When I complained the day after, the owners managed the situation well and did what they could - they moved us to another (larger and better that what I had paid for) room, from which we got a slightly stronger but still very patchy signal. The fact remains, however, that wifi is definitely a problem in this structure and I think it would have been correct to inform me beforehand.
Apart from this, our three night stay was quite smooth. The hotel is in an isolated, quiet location but still within easy reach both from town and some ski slopes. We could go for easy hikes with snow shoes (to the top of Mount Mulat just in front) without even having to use the car! They also give you bus passes and discounts for various facilities, and also advice on the surroundings.
The room was nicely appointed, comfortably warm (even with -10 Celsius outside...), the bed was OK. Unfortunately no kettle/teas in the room. Breakfast offered a decent variety of (I believe) home-made biscuits and cakes, plus juices, yogurts and some savoury items. More punctuality at breakfast would be a nice touch - every single day guests were waiting outside the breakfast room, barred by a gate, at the designated opening time, which feels a little inhospitable. Other than that, the owners couldn't have been more polite and helpful.
In my opinion room prices are high for a 3* hotel, and so are those for extras - in Trento I pay similar prices for higher category hotels that offer facilities that obviously here are missing (minibar, quality toiletries, a proper reception room, kettle and complimentary tea bags/fruit). On the other hand I guess they are in line with the others in the valley for a festive period in ski season.

Another highlight of my recent hiking holiday in the Dolomites was my stay at Mountain Hotel Zaluna. Gianni and his mother were so friendly that I was sorry to have to say goodbye to them after a week.
I chose to have the half board stay which includes dinner and breakfast. The food was consistently delicious, very well presented, well chosen options to represent local cuisine and satisfying.
The hotel was immaculate. My room was comfortable and quiet with a balcony. There was a spa to relax in after a hard days walk.
Gianni was extremely helpful in giving advice for walking in this area. I specifically chose Zaluna because it is central to several mountain areas. Lagorai, Latemar, Pale di San Martino, etc. can all be reached easily. The B&B provided a valuable bonus in the form of free passes for the local ski lifts which get you up into the mountains quickly to enjoy your hiking.
I would go back to Zaluna again without hesitation, if only to enjoy Gianni sense of humour and conversation!

Conveniently located at a bus stop, Hotel Zaluna is just outside Predazzo, and nestled near a running stream and woods with trails. Proprietor Gianni is more than helpful with suggestions for hikes and day-trips. Maria Grazia warmly welcomes guests to this spacious hotel. Our spacious double-room had a small balcony overlooking a pasture, and the room fare included a pass for a local bus and lifts as well as local attractions, including as far south as Castello d'Avio. Breakfast included creamy, local yogurt and lots of fruit and pastries. Dinner offered many vegetables and at least one vegetarian selection, and delicious deserts. Very clean and comfortable. Lounge chairs, trampoline and space to relax out back as well. I highly recommend this hotel!

buona giornata
Maria Grazia
