We had a lovely welcome and an excellent 2 night stay in this former Theakstons brewery premises converted into above average accommodation. The pub or Hotle food was much better than average and the breakfast was lovely also. It will not be the cheapest place to stay or eat locally but it was very good so thank you.

We booked a night at the White Bear on the way up to Northumbria. Everything was excellent. The room was very large, spotlessly clean and quiet. There was a large en-suite bedroom and a substantial cupboard/dressing room. There was also a great tray of refreshments, including 'proper' coffee and hot chocolate. A lovely added touch was the free cake left...

We dined here twice and though not the cheapest fare the food was excellent. The staff seem committed to friendly and helpful service and the management should be proud of their efforts to befriend customers and put them at ease. The whole staff are quality and Bentley epitomised that friendliness but to single one out would be unfair to quality...

We called in for lunch after visiting the Black Sheep Brewery just around the corner. We had been told by local people that it was worth a visit. Pub interior and exterior well maintained and there was a good menu which was reasonably priced. We had fisherman's pie and the steak sandwich and chips ....all the food was served hot...

Having stayed here for two days the hospitality was second to none. All the staff were pleasant and friendly. Rooms comfortable and spacious with all the niceties . Food excellent with generous proportions and good beer to accompany it. We even had brilliant weather which was a bonus. Will definitely visit again .

We visited Masham with our friends and wanted to have a proper Yorkshire ale and countryside pub lunch. We definitely made the right choice of restaurant. The food was yummy, the place is beautiful with lovely al fresco tables, great selection of drinks and friendly staff. Can't wait to go back :)

If it's Masham then it has to be The White Bear. Excellent rooms that are really comfortable, immaculate and well equipped. Although we stayed for one night it was ideal. The new decor in the bar and restaurant was refreshing and pleasing. Breakfast was outstanding especially as we could eat outside. (perfect Yorkshire weather) However, I only allocated four stars...

We stayed one new year in a cottage within the village so we were keen to return to the area in the summer as places like Fountains Abbey, Harlow Carr RHS and Birmham Rocks we very much wanted to see at this time of year, the countryside is beautiful in high summer and just taking walks from Masham itself in...

We stayed 2 nights and had 2 excellent meals and 2 fabulous breakfasts. If anything the breakfasts are better than the evening meals - the continental selection is expansive even without croissants or pain au chocolats being available. The staff were very friendly and the rooms large and very comfortable. Although our room was the closest to the bar/restaurant there...

Staff offered excellent customer service. The menu wasn't extensive but what they offered was tasty and of a good portion size. Most main dishes about £11 - £15. Their chips and desserts were particularly good.
