We absolutely loved the rustic charm of this historic place. The service was friendly, the pie was amazing, and the chicken soup was the best we'd ever eaten. The fire was a nice touch too. We will definitely return.

Not worth it at all. Do not stay here. Spiders all over the room. Old beds...very thin walls.. The drunks come in at three am and get into fights. No smoke alarms in rooms. shower head was the size of my thumb.

I learned from a friend who lives near Strawberry that the Strawberry Lodge closed last week, around the end of February. I was sorry to hear this, as I feel it was quite a distinctive landmark. I had stayed two or three times a few years back in the motel rooms, which were nothing to rave about, but serviceable. I...

My fiancee and I have stayed four times now at Strawberry Lodge. This Thanksgiving we decided to leave the city and once again enjoy the rustic atmosphere of our wondeful Strawberry Lodge....We had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving dinner and because our waitress Adrianna made our dinner and our two night stay there so delightful and comfortable we wish we could have...

I visited for the first time in January of 2011. I started by having the all you can eat fish dinner in the restaurant downstairs. Not only was the fish perfect, but it's served with a giant portion of fries and a bit of coleslaw...I was stuffed on my 1st plate!...And I'm a hefty eater ;) The waitress was so...

We arrived in Strawberry around 11am & ate @ the restaurant before heading over to the Festival in Pine. Food was fair & service was okay. We asked if we could check-in a bit early to drop off our luggage (on a motorcycle) but said the room wasn't clean yet. We returned around 2pm. We expected that the room would...

I should start by mentioning that the staff was great. We ate downstairs when we arrived, and although the food was nothing special, the service was great and our waitress was a real pleasure. The rooms are a whole different story. The bathrooms are tiny, you have to literally squeeze into the shower. I like that there is no television...

The Strawberry Lodge is a lovely place, right by the American River. I will always cherish my memories there. The Honeymoon Suite is particularly stunning, with amazing antiques and a really comfortable bed. We appreciated the tasty drinks in the historic bar too. We were aware that the hotel would be well-worn, but were pleasantly surprised with how pretty and...

My husband and I spent our honeymoon here 33 years ago and although I knew it would be "rough" in a small town, it was recommended to us. OMG...... but who cares on their wedding night anyhow?? To celebrate this year we thought we would return and were shocked to see NOTHING had changed. When I pulled back the fuzzy,...
