Detailed Reviews
We stayed here in July 2012. It is in a pretty location about 18 miles from Goose Bay. The cabin is tiny; sitting on the couch, you are basically on the floor; television is 12" and old; internet was slow or didn't work. There were insufficient towels for 2 people--had to go get more. Picnic table outside was broken--one piece thrown by the side of the cabin and the rest fallen over. The place was generally run down. I suggest staying in Happy Valley-goose bay, a nice small town with lots of amenities. We chose this place because we wanted to enjoy being off the beaten track. We stayed in lovely places across labrador/newfoundland except for this one.

I have to give these guys top billing. It was late evening in mid-June and raining hard when we pulled in with our 5th Wheel in tow. Goose River Lodges is the only campground in the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area. The owner was still in the office. As we walked up, the he informed us that the RV parking was closed. The water lines, buried 7-8 feet deep, were still frozen; however, we were free to pull in for the night and even use the electricity. He refused our offer of any payment because of the weather. As not to outstay our welcome, we boon-docked in the parking lot of municipal arena the next evening. Goose River Lodges could have sent us scrambling for a site during the storm. They could have checked us in and charged us for unavailable services. Instead they showed mercy, compassion and grace. I cannot think of many businesses that would do that.
