We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights in July. I was impressed at the amount of space & the beautiful view of the lake. I was not impressed at all by the service. We arrived at 7pm & asked if they could bring a crib to our room for our baby girl. By 10pm the crib had not yet arrived..after getting the gears from the front end staff about not having enough staff to find a crib, a maintenance guy finally brought the crib at 12:30am. We were also unimpressed with the tv selection, no movies (unless you feel like stepping out to find a video store). When we checked out, the front end staff complained to us that we checked out an hour too late. We will never stay here again.

The one bedroom suite we stayed in was absolutely gorgeous. You have your own private deck overlooking the lake with a BBQ, table and chairs. The kitchen is really nice, modern and fully equipped, there is even a dishwasher, washer and dryer. Only problem we had was there is no housekeeping service unless you stay for a week and only then they will come in only once for light housekeeping. Coffee, creamer, sugar, towels, soaps, etc. were not refreshed on a daily basis, nor were the beds made for you. For the price of the hotel ($220.00 + taxes) per night we felt this should be included as most hotels do provide this service, even ones that cost a whole lot less. A policy letter also lets you know that if any additional cleaning is required you will be billed for it. Eg: BBQ not cleaned properly etc. Overall it was a classy, clean place to stay for the weekend.

wonderful hotel spoiled by a couple of things. on the plus side it was affordable and included a full kitchen, separate bedroom, ensuite laundry and a balcony with a view. the problem starts with the view which is spoiled by a water slide park next door, also there is only 1 elevator that the cleaning staff likes to use. thankfully the good things outweigh the bad and would go back again.

I was supposed to stay here for my sisters wedding on July 28th. Cancelled the rooms in May. Only to receive my credit card bill today, charging me for a one nights stay. Not impressed at all. So now being charged 261.59 for a room that I did not even use. Complete bs

Our family stayed at the Chateau Suited for 3 nights, Aug 12, 13, and 14. For $300.00 a night we were very disappointed in the quality and service of this hotel. On Saturday night we could not sleep becasue of the parties that were taking place in the hotel till 3am. When we complained the person at the front desk said they would call security but nothing every happened? No apoligies or anyhing upon check out. Also there is no DAILY room cleaning. You are on your own. They are however, generous enough to give you clean towels. NO a FAMILY HOTEL!!!! Good if you want to party late into the night!!!

This was our third summer back at the Chateau Suites and it will be our last!

We walked into our 2 bedroom suite to be greeted by an awful and overwhelming smell. The carpets in the master bedroom and walk-in closet were wet and filthy. We called the front desk to inquire and they said management was gone for the day and would contact us in the morning. By late afternoon on day 2 we went to the desk only to be told there was nothing they could do.

As I was walking back to my suite another guest approached me and asked what room I was in, she then proceeded to inform me that she overheard the staff at the desk talking about the room that had beed flooded from a plugged toilet! Not only were we disgusted and shocked, we were stunned that they would knowingly put us in room with bacteria filled, untreated carpets with our infant and pre-schooler.

Management said they would only move us to a one bedroom which did not work for us but offered to comp the stay and add on 4 days if we kept the room and they ripped out the carpet in the closet and treated the bedroom properly. We agreed and then endured 3 more days of hell. They ripped out the carpet and underlay, leaving us with a dirty, noisy fan to dry the room. Came back to replace the underlay, and then, if you can believe this... brought back the old carpet and put in back in. The smell was enough to make you ill.

We went to the desk and they said what they did was normal and they were no longer going to comp our stay only offer a discount. We objected and asked why they would go back on their word, only to be told that there will be no discount now of any kind, we will be paying full price ($250 per night). We asked for a meeting with the owner and he came to our suite as we were checking out (one day early) as to avoid a scene at the desk, and proceeded to raise his voice refusing to let us speak one word or discuss the matter at all. We have never experienced customer service on this level and are upset and disappointed to have lost such precious holiday time to this establishment.

Other notes: the overall cleanliness of the rooms and balconies seems to worsen each year. I had to wash the floors as our socks were black, and clean piles of dead bugs from around the front and screen doors. The patio had sunflower seeds all over and a bunch of cigarette butts.

Needless to say, we will never return or refer the Chateau Suites to anyone.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite which includes 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a hide-a-bed in the living room. The suite suited our needs just fine, giving us lots of room to spread out and feel like we were in someone's home rather than in a hotel. The full kitchen (and BBQ on the deck) allowed us to eat great food that we cooked ourselves. (There are grocery stores in Sylvan to get supplies.) The kitchen comes equipped with dishes, utensils, pots, etc. but do bring your own oil, salt/pepper and food, of course.

When we were on our way home, we discovered that we had left behind some items in one of the drawers. The staff managed to locate the items and sent them out the next day. For this reason, alone, I would stay at this location again.

We attended a leadership conference this past weekend and our accommodations were at the Chateau Suites. Upon arrival we were greeted by our hostess who quickly checked us in and answered all our questions. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, view of the water was and scenery was spectacular. The elevator was slow but not really an issue as patience is a key to a positive experience. The noise from the late night partiers on the main street was a bit of a hassle, but this would happen regardless of the hotel on the main drag. It was a bit expensive, but certainly affordable for the type of accommodations. We will definitely return for a stay at this hotel when we once return to Sylvan Lake.

This is my second and probably last time staying here. The carpets were very dirty throughout and had several cigarette burns in them. There's smoking allowed on the balcony and since it previously rained today, the carpet was soaking wet by the patio door. The balcony pooled leaving about 3" of water there all day so it couldn't be used. The walls are quite dirty as well as the patio doors. If you need anything, like a cable to plug your computer in, you have to go to the front desk to pick it up, they do not deliver anything to your room. If you want extra coffee packages there's a charge for them even if you stay more than one night. There is no housekeeping unless you stay for a week and even then it's only "light" there is a charge for requesting more. The beach area doesn't exist since the water flowed right over it completely, last time I was here the beach area was poor, quite dirty and lots of sea weed. The doors shut very loudly so if anyone comes or goes (even from a suite close to you) when you're trying to sleep this would most likely wake up most people since the bedrooms are located by the doors.
On the positive side, the suite is very open and roomy with a great view of the lake. The kitchen and bathroom were nice and clean.

I was at the Chateau Suites from Sat May 24 to Sun May 25. In the middle of the night (close to 1 am) we were rudely awakened by rowdy individuals at the Pizza joint across the street. We called the front desk and the individual said all he could do was call the Pizza joint and ask them to keep it down.

Rather than moving us to rooms away from the noise (or even as an example offering ear plugs) we were made to feel that we just had to make do. Given that we were spending close to $200 for the night, we don't think it is unreasonable of us to expect a good night's sleep. When checking out, our conversation with someon else at the front desk was also one that was met with an attitude that lacked sympathy.

We escalated our dissatisfaction to the General Manager who in her words admitted that "This is not the first time we have had complaints about the noise coming from Northshore Pizza". We were further told that "Had the noise come from our establishment, I can assure you it would have been dealt with.... Unless there had been a suite available on the far west side of the building, I'm not sure that would have made a difference as they all face the same direction".

Not sure if you like to feel valued (and have a good night's sleep). If so look at other alternatives...next time we will!
