Fosshotel Hellnar is located in the tiny town of Hellnar on the Snaefellsnes peninsula, just a few hundred meters from the shore and 6 km from Iceland’s famous Snaefellsjokull glacier and volcano. Our room was a little fancier than most of the previous guesthouses, and overall, this felt like a higher quality guesthouse. Our room faced the ocean so the...

Stayed here a couple of nights recently. The hotel is very nice and clean and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The rooms are on the small side but clean and efficient. Had a beautiful view over the ocean which was a nice bonus even if the weather was grey and dreary during our stay. The restaurant served...

Hotel located with an ocean view, at the beginning of the hike to Arnarstarpi. Check-in was efficient, but the reception was not very friendly. Room was small but quaint and nice. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast included both hot and cold food and was very good.

I loved everything about this place, the surroundings, the staff, the view and the fact that it's eco-friendly. The room was spotless, modern and charming. The hotel fits in nicely with the landscape and is just tasteful. We didn't have an ocean view room but had breakfast out on the terrace which was amazing! We also had dinner at the...

The room was simple but clean and had all necessities. The location was superb to explore the gem that is Hellnar. Lovely beach access and hiking areas. Food was fine, a bit pricey. The only issue I had with the hotel was the reception staff being cold and abrupt. Rather giving off a condescending feel. All other staff were wonderful...

First of all let me saying that the hotel was amazing (cleaning, position, sorroundings, landscapes). We have a reservation also for the restaurant where we had our dinner. The ambient is cool, a little bit expensive comparing it to the Iceland standards. It would be a 4/5 review but unfortuntely the reception staff wasn't kind with us. In fact we...

There with my hubby and daughter. Simple room with comfortable beds. Bathroom is very basic. It is an eco friendly hotel, so the water pressure is really low. One heater in the room only, none in the bathroom. No tissue paper provided as well. But everything is very clean. It is a simple room and will serve your basic needs....

Lovely hotel if your inside building or the executive rooms looking out at the glacier . If your in rooms 1-4 then it's not good news as the shower area is mouldy ,it's cold and I wouldn't sleep in there for love nor money . The food is excellent in the evening and plenty of choice at breakfast to. The...
