We stayed here and found the hotel location amazing. Arrived late in the evening and went straight for dinner. Dinner was amazing, one of the nicest meals in Iceland. The only issue we had was with one of the servers. I noticed in the evening she seems to drag her feet through the restuarant, her shoes didn't fit and it...

We had fabulous sea view room with a balcony; however, due to poor weather conditions we could not use the balcony. The room was large and very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a good selection of items. We stayed three nights and each night dinner was excellent. The location is excellent as it...

Smaller size room but fine. Great views from all sides. Breakfast was very diverse with many things to try. Dinner was very expensive but tasted good. Bathroom looked newly remodeled and we did not have the problems other reviewers had. I thought everyone was friendly and helpful.

The location/setting of the hotel is brilliant! Rooms on the south side have excellent views over the coast, rooms are nice and comfortable (if a little bit old). The restaurant was great for dinner, not so great for breakfast - which seems to be a common issue in many Icelandic hotels. The hotel seems to have recently rebranded/change management, which...

Fosshotel Hellnar was a quaint hotel in a great location. We were upgraded on arrival to a room overlooking the sea. Just beautiful. Our dinner of perfectly cooked lamb was excellent. Our stay was disappointed by the complete lack if service at breakfast. Staff were too relaxed. Tables weren't set. Guests were constantly knocking on the kitchen door asking for...

Pros: great location to explore the national park, only 10 minutes drive away. We had amazing coastal views from our room, which was basic (not much else provided, eg no tea coffee or kettle in room or common areas) but clean. We saw the auroras here on both nights too right from our window. A definitely plus. Common area was...

This hotel was a big disappointment. Our room was tiny and not at all well-equipped, especially considering the price we paid. The way the rooms are constructed make it feel more like staying in a mobile trailer than a proper hotel. The bed, washroom, shower, and amenities were below motel quality. There's no closet or anywhere to put away clothes,...

This was booked as part of a group holiday. I was fortunate enough to get a large room with two twin beds plus a sofa/tv overlooking the pretty church at the rear of the property. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom clean and modern with a good shower. The radiators allowed me to control the temperature of the...

I liked this place. Yes, it's quirky; yes, the water from the shower ran all over the bathroom; yes, the room was small. But: given that it is in the middle of nowhere, it's a fine haven if you are traveling in that part of Iceland. The dining room is light and airy with a view of the water. The...
