Nice hotel in a beautiful location. Breakfast was ordinary but dinner was terrific. There was a large group at the hotel during our stay, which didn't add to the experience. But, the staff handled it well and it didn't detract too much. Recommended.

We loved this hotel and really enjoyed the restaurant on site. Friendly staff, well priced and ridiculous ocean views. Perhaps the best feature was its location at the start of a wonderful seaside nature hike which takes you from seaside lagoons to cliffs to lava fields covered in moss to the neighboring village. Spectacular. Be sure to get a fish...

This hotel was very clean and comfortable and well located for a visit to the park. We had a spacious room (Room 35). The restaurant is top flight. There also is ample opportunity for short hiking before or after dinner.

The combination of service and the quality of the food experience was perfect for the occasion. My regards to the Chef and staff. Driving around Snaefellsnes is a place I will visit again with my family.

Our travel agent Nordic Visitor booked for us under hotel hellnor. We arrived and after much whispering and concerned looks and computer checking from check in staff We were given 2 triple rooms for our single and double booked; in a row of outside rooms. Lobby was warm and inviting . Seemed great, looked like they were updating the rooms...

Loved the location and the surrounding areas. Room right through door from restaurant so very noisy as door bashed back and forth and noisy waitresses laughing and turning music up after restaurant had closed. Couldn't open window in room, which was small and in need of modernisation. Bathroom decor a bit suspect and mould beginning to form (though I tried...

My wife and I stayed here for a night on our honeymoon. Beautiful location with stunning ocean views. The room was quite small and, when we arrived, there were two twin beds. We had to get the staff to push them together. No problem, the staff was accommodating, just thought it was odd since it was called a "double room",...

From what I can tell, this hotel has recently been purchased by the "FossHotel" chain that you'll see on much of your stay around Iceland. The branding was being changed to "FossHotel" but aside from banners outfront, the signage still read "Hotel Hellnar", which was also the name of the hotel at the time of my booking. I arrived on...

We arrived half an hour before check in time. The rooms were ready, but the staff refused on principle to check us in until the stroke of three. When we saw our rooms, both of which were listed as "deluxe," one of them was no better than what you would find at a third-rate hotel in mainland Europe. The bathroom...

What a location! Overlooking the ocean in the tiny village of Hellnan on the southern coast of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula two hours from Reykjavik, Iceland. Our room (admittedly an upgrade) was easily the largest of any we stayed in during our two week trip. The view of the Snaefellsjokull Glacier was stunning. Breakfast was excellent: Wide range of choices including...
