This was the first time my husband and I had stayed at the Pierhouse and we would certainly like to return. We were warmly welcomed and then shown to our upgraded bedroom with a beautiful view of the islands from our window. The bedroom was extremely comfortable, nicely furnished, well appointed and so nice and cosy! Our son has been here several times and had highly recommended we go too - in fact he got engaged here! After enjoying a rest in our lovely bedroom, we went outside to explore. The sun was just setting and the views were spectacular. All the way from home we were seeing Scotland at its best. The mountains of Glencoe were snow capped, the sky was vivid blue and the sun was shining - all in all a perfect day. Our evening meal was a delicious seafood dinner. We particularly liked the scallops in pastry with the beurre blanc sauce. To round off a perfect night we sat in the cosy snug and enjoyed the last of our wine. The next morning we were delighted to waken up to more sun shining on the snowy islands and how lovely it was to eat our breakfast looking out onto those wonderful views. The breakfast was fantastic - so freshly cooked and tasty - could not have been better. More exploring had to be done before we left so we walked round the Point and then into the village. Last of all we enjoyed a wee dram of the hotel’s own whisky in the bar. Lovely place, friendly people and a spectacular setting. We loved it!…
A return visit too The Pierhouse in the quiet month of January 2023 and we were not disappointed.... the Scottish weather held up ..to take in the amazing views from this special place ... The hotel itself provides lovely comfortable rooms with every detail catered for ..the bar & snug are relaxing places to enjoy a gin or two .... the staff are amazing, so helpful and the dinner menu sublime ...We enjoyed the most delicious breakfast while taking in the Seaview... I cannot praise this hotel enough and an absolute must if your in the area .
A wonderful stay and a magical time. We were very warm inside the hotel whilst the outside temperatures were very low. Great food and great service throughout. All of the staff were excellent and most supportive, especially when we had to vacate a day earlier than planned owing to a severe snow forecast. Just as well that we did, because the Highland roads were blocked for a couple of days. Thank you to the hotel management for being so understanding. Bonus is that we'll return to catch up on the missing night!! Thank you.
This small hotel was a great find at the end of the road in Port Appin. There is a small pier where a small ferry boat transports peope to and from the island of Lismore. The hotel has 12 rooms, the one we were allocated had a sea viewand was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was excellent, they have a good range of seafood, as you might expect. There were are fine range of whiskies and gins for those who take a tipple. It was a bit pricey for weekend accommodation, but considering the quality of the room, food and service, we had no complaints.
We stayed here for 2 nights, from check in to check out the staff were amazing. Log fires burning created a great atmosphere and the fresh seafood was amazing , soufflé starter was unbelievable. Breakfast on both mornings again was great. David and staff were fab, will be returning again
The most beautiful setting ...really friendly staff ..couldn't do enough for us ..warm and cosy atmosphere ..and the food was delicious . It really is the perfect getaway . We had a sea view room ..and the views don't disappoint. Cannot wait to return
We came here as we were nearby visiting a garden centre. We went in on the off chance and got a table for 2. Good timing as the restaurant was full about 10 minutes later. We had the most amazing langoustines and smoked salmon, cooked excellently and enjoyed immensely. Attentive and polite staff.
The most wonderful stay. Thank you so much! Amazing evening meal, fantastic breakfast and fabulous comfy bed. The view from The hotel is incredible we will absolutely be back. Thank you for my birthday cake! One of my best trips ever! X
Great fish restaurant - and the rest of our party totally enjoyed their meals - sadly as a vegetarian (lol! I'm not sad about being veggie) the choice was quite limiting and a bit lack lustre - but great views, lovely food, nice staff :-)
Just had dinner at the Pierhouse Hotel - possibly the most memorable - for all the right reasons - meal I've ever had. Simple - well actually not! - but truly perfectly formed. Arnold Bennett soufflé is, as Dougie would say, chust sublime! Creamy, rich and bursting with flavour with the freshest of fish that just melts on the tongue. A work of art. Try it. Burnt orange rice pudding a triumph; full of surprises and bursting with flavour. What more can I say? Just glorious. And if I didn't mention the front of house staff, it would be a dereliction of duty - David, Bethany and Bobby-Jo are the stars that create the Pierhouse, hand in hand with the chefs. Fabulous!
