For some reason (I've been to Porthcawl before) I wasn't expecting much. Well I was pleasantly surprised. A friendly greeting, brilliant staff, and nice clean rooms all made for a great stay. The food too could not be faulted, with big portions of good wholesome "home cooking". Beware the "Chocolate Nemesis" though, might want to share between two! Excellent location...

Went to the Atlantic for lunch today with friends, the lunch was lovely, the plates were hot,the food plentiful and tasty, there was a good selection on menu,we had a window seat which was great, they even provided balloons as it was a birthday, the staff were professional and friendly, pity the weather wasn't good but that is Wales.

Attended for a surprise 60th Birthday Party and the biggest surprise was the poor standard of the food and service provided by waitressing staff. The customer service was appalling as despite complaining about the food and being told they would 'tell chef' there was no feedback provided. I ordered the lasagne along with my daughter but when they arrived there...

Attractive venue with good view was met at door by a young sulking girl with dark hair who sort of pouted when we asked was food at 2.45pm was silently shown to a good table by window, good varied menu we choose 2 gammons which arrived in about 12 minutes half cooked eggs on both plates which we flipped over...

Took my partner for Sunday lunch and wasn't very impressed.Signs of building work was evident on the ceiling and walls which was offputting. The creamy mash was the worst I'd ever tasted, not sure what the chef was trying to achieve there.Cracking location although parking is tight.

Lovely food and catered well for vegan and an adult small eater . Food was very nicely cooked and tasted great, all 8 of us enjoyed. Would have given it a 5 if it were not for couple of waitresses who had no customer skills, they just seemed harassed. Most of staff were nice even though it was a busy...

We stayed here last night. We had a room with a sea view, and a great view of a beautiful sunset. The room was clean and comfortable, the shower was good, and the breakfast excellent, with hot food cooked to order. We ate in the restaurant last night, which was rather disappointing. The food came out extremely quickly, and was...

Overpriced for what you get, the room was fine, bathroom needs updating, or a good clean. Breakfast was nice, but spoilt by grumpy young girl serving with attitude. Good sized car park out the rear of hotel.

Hi all We've been to the Atlantic hotel for an evening meal several times. On previous occasions the food was ok. The hotel is right on the sea front and the views are great. On this occasion we book for a meal on Saturday evening, everything there is clean and tidy and staff are nice. We ordered our drinks with...

Our first night at our friends in Porthcawl we decided to eat out and booked a table at the Atlantic. The welcome was very nice and the food was superb as was the service. The steak was cooked as per my wishes. All four of us said that we would return in the future.
