Breakfast, food was very good and well presented. The hotel staff greeted you with a cheery hello and smile every day. We only booked a budget room which was as good as we expected, there was an en-suit shower room, kettle, hairdryer and plenty of tea and coffee packs. Clean towels every day The hotel is located in the centre of Porthcawl minutes walk from the shops and beach . The hotel normally has entertainment on at weekends but due to corona virus this was cancelled.

Where do I start? Booked this hotel last minute and in a rush as needed somewhere to stay on the same day. Parking was great, right outside 👌 The website photos are totally misleading, it is a real dive. At 7pm the place was already rowdy and felt like we were in some sort of social club. We got a drink, great value for money (although tasted like crap) and headed up to our room. Well... bullet points will be easier... - the door had a gap we could fit our hand under - upon putting hand under door the carpet felt like gravel and stunk. - the 70's decor needed repainting 30 years ago - the 'flat screen tv' was smaller than my ipad. - the bathroom- yuk. I think if we had actually had a shower we would have come out dirtier. - the light above the bed didnt work. - it stunk - the bed had obviously seen a lot of action ;) and was unsleepable. Surfice to say, we sat down, laughed our heads off, got back online and booked another hotel. There was no way we were going to subject ourselves to that. All being said- everyone looked like they were having fun and I'm sure if we were 10 years younger we would have found ourselves downstairs on the dancefloor- if you can't beat them, join them. But Deffo wouldn't recommend for anyone who wants to actually sleep, or leave without a disease 🤣

upon check in we were greeted by friendly staff. Told us we have a nice quiet room. Entered the room on top floor which was hard to find as hotel is like a maze. 2 flights of stairs with a heavy suitcase no offer to take up our case. Rooms well 1st impression ok but needs up dating until i started inspecting!! Stains on carpets looked awful. Guest Soaps dirty packaging ewww put off straight away by that. Bedside lamp falling apart no bulb. Light above bed did not work just the starter in the light kept buzzing! Hole in wall which has been refilled but not painted over. 1st night sleeping, well let's say i did not! Beds in desperate need of new mattress springs stuck in my back and ribs all night i could not walk tidy the next morning without being in pain. I did complain about this and the mattress was changed but huge stain that they tried to hide from my husband by putting the mattress on the bed upside down!! When my husband showed me the stain i was horrified. the pillows were flat as pancakes! The flooring was like a sponge evertime you walked past the wardrobe would wobble! Bathroom had to run the shower for a solid 5 mins b4 any hot water came through and then only luke warm. Cracked tiles on floor and huge cobwebs hanging from sky light. Saturday evening the bar was jammed packed with people from the streets no room for hotel guests and defenatly not 2 meter distance that night. I wouldnt have even taken my family in there. Loud pissheads everywhere!! Im so sorry I booked this hotel. Never again. Save your money!!!
