We found this by accident after a long day and what a find! Full of character (yes some of the building was uneven and very old), but renovated to suit, 'The Old Priory' was a gem. Our room was spacious with a large bathroom including a bath. Downstairs there is a large sitting room for all guests to relax in,...

Thanks to Matt and Melody for a fantastic weekend! 19 of us stayed at The Old Priory. The house was absolutely perfect, Bath and Bristol both easily reachable. Matt and Melody sorted a barbecue out for us on Saturday afternoon which was ideal. The garden is beautiful and perfect for a spot of cricket or croquet (or 3 a side...

A group of us rented the whole Priory for a four day gathering and it was a most wonderful experience. The building itself is beautiful and has been very tastefully restored. The kitchen is professionally equipped, the sitting rooms are comfortable and well sized, and the bedrooms are beautifully decorated, and are all en suite. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, beautifully...

I rented out The Old Priory for a weekend with a group of friends as we were attending Bath races. The owners were very helpful throughout the booking process and were very flexible in accommodating all of us by providing extra beds. The house is fantastic for large group bookings as there is plenty of space in the communal areas,...

We rented out the Old Priory for my sister's hen do and it was fantastic. Melody and Matt made us very welcome and they provided us with lots of helpful information prior to and on our arrival. The Old Priory had everything we needed for a truly wonderful weekend. The kitchen and bar were superbly equipped as was the TV...

Two nights here and we didn't want to leave! The house itself is phenomenol with huge stone flag floors, the biggest hearth I've ever seen outside of a castle and even a resident tiger (just wait until you see it)! We stayed in The Chapel room which was a great size, en suite and with its own ' vestibule'. The...

Such a wonderful old place, I really liked it not least because my father lived here as a child and the property features in my next book. Very ye olde English, loaded with charm, I can't think of anything I didn't like.

I have just spent three nights here whilst researching my family history; many of my ancestors came from Midsomer Norton and were miners. The reason I picked The Old Priory was it is one of the oldest houses in Midsomer Norton and therefore in keeping with my visit and it is close to the St John the Baptist Church and...

We were due to spend our wedding night at the hotel and arranged to deliver bags early in the morning so that we did not have to check in half way through our day. I turned up with the bags at 8am as arranged waited outside for 15 minutes and after several bell rings was about to leave when a...

So let’s get the facts correct here as we fundamentally disagree with almost everything in this review. This couple booked a premium room with a four poster bed for their wedding night around six months ago by telephone. The quoted room rate, which was inclusive of breakfast, was agreed at this time without question. The wife called by telephone two...
