If you have booked and are paying £80 (without breakfast) to stay in a hotel and it is early evening and it is a weekend, you don't expect to arrive and find the place totally closed. This was the Marie Celeste of France. Not only was the hotel shut without any lights but also the restaurant which should have been...

We arrived on a drizzly weekday and the town was very quiet, but we got a warm welcome at this hotel, which had friendly and helpful staff. Our room was fine and I don't have too much to say about it either way but would very much recommend going for dinner in the restaurant. What an interesting, visually stunning and...

We returned to this hotel after enjoying an excellent meal a couple of year ago. We were disappointed that the only menu was the Gourmet which did not impress us at all. not sure what the residents did!

As a group of twelve walking friends, we booked into this restaurant because we were in Clecy and it looked so picturesquely French. We weren't disappointed. They arranged a square table rather than a long one, with three of us on each side which was a great idea as it lent itself to a lot of easy dinner conversation. The...

But there wasn't a menu as such. We did find it a little confusing, but this was probably due to our poor French understanding. There was a dish of the day which was a main and dessert. There was however a 3, 5 or 7 course menu which may have had some choice. There was also a little amuse bouche....

Good base for walking in Suisse Normande; other sports on the river; demi pension excellent value. Good service and comfortable rooms but no lift. Food very good. Within easy reach of lots of points of interest such as landing beaches, Caen, Bayeux. Village had good small shop, bakers and butchers.

Rather off -hand staff seeming more concerned with own lives than guests! Lock in my room stuck every time on exit but staff just dismissed any problem with ça marche! Area pretty by the river Orne and good for canoes and rock climbers. Walkers have good choice but route signs are numerous and confusing as cycling clubs have a plethora...

This restaurant is all but worth an impromptu detour from the main route between Caen and Mont Saint Michel. The duckling (a mix with roasted and fried duck breast) was excellent and so was the pear caramel dessert. As we arrived early (there is not much to do in Clecy after 6pm), we were served aperitif with an excellent wine...

Arrived Monday evening. We knew that the restaurant would be closed, but everywhere else to eat in Clecy was also closed so hThad a lovely meal in Conde 7 k away. There was no heating and we had to ask at reception for some heating for the bedroom. The biggest disappointment was the meal on the Tuesday evening. Unable to...
