I was a visitor to this hotel with a large group of cyclists in September and I was lucky enough to have a room with a balcony overlooking the magnificent view of the fields and hills. The staff were so kind (especially the reception staff) and the food was out of this world. I'm booking in for a return visit...

Our cycle club revisited this hotel as a fixed base for our trip to the Suisse Normand. As before, we were looked after very well. Cyclists need to be well fed, especially to tackle the local hills, as indicated by the locality. Easy ride from the ferry, mainly on a flat, smooth-surfaced cycleway following the old railway line, only some...

Clecy on a Monday afternoon is barely alive, and this hotel keeps itself closed until 5pm, so we had time to look around and refresh ourselves with a cuppa at the local brasserie. I had been warned that the hotel did not serve dinner on a Monday evening, so we booked a table at the brasserie. The hotel receptionist was...

My wife and I booked 4 nights from Sunday. On arrival on Sunday afternoon, we were told that the restaurant was closed on Sunday evening and all day Monday. This was not just the case for the restaurant, but for all the public areas of the hotel. We could only access our room via a back staircase into the rear...

I arrived here after two nights wet weather camping, looking for somewhere nice and dry and warm to recover during my walk along the GR36. They only had a premium room at €85 but did offer demi-pension at €105 which I considered offered better value. The room was clean, quite spacious, if over the top for a solo traveller. The...

When I arrived the hotel was locked with no explanation or notice visible saying why. The "hotel" did not open until 5pm. When I checked in I asked if I could get dinner, to be told "we don't open the restaurant on a Monday night." I found a nice little cafe around the corner, so I ate there. When I...

My wife and I are regular visitors to the restaurant. Claire and her staff are always welcoming and very patient with our lack of French. The meals themselves are outstanding with that sophistication that is typically French. Many of the dishes are centered on local produce and the choice varied enough for any pallet. In all, excellent meals, great atmosphere,...

Lovely restaurant, good ambience and great service. The food was fantastic and beautifully presented. Only adverse comment is the failure to offer each guest wine glasses for red and white wines rather than using the one glass for both. I would definitely return to this beautiful restaurant.

Au Site Normand is situated in the Suisse Normande region and is a small, extremely clean hotel, offering an extremely good food, using much local produce, presented beautifully, both at dinner and breakfast. The rooms are not large, but perfectly adequate and the general decor of the hotel is imaginative and interesting. A particular mention must be made of the...

A little gem, don't judge a book by its cover! Friendly service, clean room, and suprisingly good cuisine very well presented. We had a super evening meal and wine in a restaurant that was popular with both locals (always a good sign) and guests. We wanted to leave our car and trailer in the car park until lunchtime, while we...
