great place, old charming chateau (needs a lick of paint) good restaurant, with great dishes and ambience (restaurant manager not representative fro the chateau) great woods for a walk with the dogs. swimming pool fantastic in summer time
Beautiful room let down only by an unattractive TV set (with limited programmers) and lack of bathroom toiletries. Shower access difficult for persons with mild leg disabilities. Restaurant and staff top rate.
Out in the country side, thinking 1 start upon arrival, seing my room, which was not something to cheer for. But after a few day, the place kind of grew on me, and that spiced up with some wonderful food, I still get ot 3 stars, as the food was really worth going for. Rooms are okay, but might be time for a brush up. Even in January the pool looked very nice and clean, so I wouldn't mind stopping over for a few days, on my way to somewhere in France. Most staff was really friendly and help full, and several of them was very good in English
Just back from a night here offered by our daughter, what a terrible sad place. Felt thrilled at being offered a room in the chateau itself..... until we opened the main door, sad sight to see, paintwork chipped everywhere, horrid corridors again with bashed paintwork. First bedroom we walked straight back out of s the stench of tobacco was unbearable. The room we were then given was so depressing, sad, desperately in need of modernisation, filthy headboard, dust around the furniture. Not at all the night of our dreams we were promised and the owner stood with a smirk when we complained!! 60th birthday celebration, totally ruined. Would not recommend at all.
I'm visiting friends in the area who suggested we come here for a special dinner. The venue itself is beautiful, the farmhouse and stables are stunning and the castle itself is located with a backdrop of green Forrest and long driveways. I loved it. It definitely needs some updating and professional interior design but my distaste for mini cactus quickly dissapeared once I ordered my meal. The staff were amazingly attentive and as some who speaks no french I didn't have to worry about questions on the menu or wine options. We had such a varied meal with multiple courses including palette cleaners and between courses. The price is super reasonable for the quality of meal and everything came together perfectly. I would absolutely recommend eating here while you're in the region, ignore the chinzy decorations and don't be afraid if it's not too busy to ask for a look around (I couldn't help myself!). Perfect evening!…
